Deuteronomy 13 And if there should rise up among you a prophet or one dreaming dreams, and he should give to you a sign or miracle,

3 G3756 You shall not G191 hearken to G3588 the G3056 words G3588 G4396 of that prophet, G1565 G2228 or G3588 the G1797 one dreaming G3588 G1798 that dream; G1565 G3754 for G3985 [³tests G2962 ¹ the lord G3588 G2316 ²your God] G1473 G1473 you, G3588 G1492 to know, G1487 if G25 you love G2962 the lord G3588 G2316 your God G1473 G1537 from G3650 [²entire G3588 G2588 ³heart G1473 ¹your] G2532 and G1537 from G3650 [²entire G3588 G5590 ³soul G1473 ¹your].

14 H1875 ודרשׁת Then shalt thou inquire, H2713 וחקרת and make search, H7592 ושׁאלת and ask H3190 היטב diligently; H2009 והנה and, behold, H571 אמת truth, H3559 נכון certain, H1697 הדבר the thing H6213 נעשׂתה is wrought H8441 התועבה abomination H2063 הזאת such H7130 בקרבך׃ among

15 H5221 הכה H5221 תכה H853 את H3427 ישׁבי the inhabitants H5892 העיר city H1931 ההוא of that H6310 לפי with the edge H2719 חרב of the sword, H2763 החרם H853 אתה H853 ואת H3605 כל and all H834 אשׁר that H853 בה ואת H929 בהמתה therein, and the cattle H6310 לפי thereof, with the edge H2719 חרב׃ of the sword.

16 H853 ואת H3605 כל all H7998 שׁללה the spoil H6908 תקבץ And thou shalt gather H413 אל of it into H8432 תוך the midst H7339 רחבה of the street H8313 ושׂרפת thereof, and shalt burn H784 באשׁ with fire H853 את H5892 העיר the city, H853 ואת H3605 כל and all H7998 שׁללה the spoil H3632 כליל thereof every whit, H3068 ליהוה for the LORD H430 אלהיך thy God: H1961 והיתה and it shall be H8510 תל a heap H5769 עולם forever; H3808 לא it shall not H1129 תבנה be built H5750 עוד׃ again.

YLT ⁽ⁱ⁾ ¹ `When there ariseth in your midst a prophet, or a dreamer of a dream, and he hath given unto thee a sign or wonder, ² and the sign and the wonder hath come which he hath spoken of unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods (which thou hast not known), and serve them, ³ thou dost not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or unto that dreamer of the dream, for Jehovah your God is trying you, to know whether ye are loving Jehovah your God with all your heart, and with all your soul; ⁴ after Jehovah your God ye walk, and Him ye fear, and His commands ye keep, and to His voice ye hearken, and Him ye serve, and to Him ye cleave. ⁵ `And that prophet, or that dreamer of the dream, is put to death, for he hath spoken apostasy against Jehovah your God (who is bringing you out of the land of Egypt, and hath ransomed you out of a house of servants), to drive you out of the way in which Jehovah thy God hath commanded thee to walk, and thou hast put away the evil thing from thy midst.
⁶ `When thy brother--son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend who is as thine own soul--doth move thee, in secret, saying, Let us go and serve other gods--(which thou hast not known, thou and thy fathers, ⁷ of the gods of the peoples who are round about you, who are near unto thee, or who are far off from thee, from the end of the earth even unto the end of the earth) -- ⁸ thou dost not consent to him, nor hearken unto him, nor doth thine eye have pity on him, nor dost thou spare, nor dost thou cover him over. ⁹ `But thou dost surely kill him; thy hand is on him, in the first place, to put him to death, and the hand of all the people last; ¹⁰ and thou hast stoned him with stones, and he hath died, for he hath sought to drive thee away from Jehovah thy God, who is bringing thee out of the land of Egypt, out of a house of servants; ¹¹ and all Israel do hear and fear, and add not to do like this evil thing in thy midst.
