Matthew 2

  1 G3588   G1161 And G* Jesus G1080 having been born G1722 in G* Bethlehem G3588   G* of Judea, G1722 in G2250 the days G* of Herod G3588 the G935 king, G2400 behold, G3097 magi G575 from G395 the east G3854 came G1519 unto G* Jerusalem,

  2 G3004 saying, G4226 Where G1510.2.3 is G3588 the one G5088 having been born G935 king G3588 of the G* Jews? G1492 For we beheld G1063   G1473 his G3588   G792 star G1722 in G3588 the G395 east, G2532 and G2064 we came G4352 to do obeisance G1473 to him.

  3 G191 And hearing, G1161   G* Herod G3588 the G935 king G5015 was disturbed, G2532 and G3956 all G* Jerusalem G3326 with G1473 him.

  4 G2532 And G4863 gathering together G3956 all G3588 the G749 chief priests G2532 and G1122 scribes G3588 of the G2992 people, G4441 he inquired G3844 of G1473 them G4226 where G3588 the G5547 Christ G1080 is born.

  5 G3588 And they G1161   G2036 said G1473 to him, G1722 In G* Bethlehem G3588   G* of Judea; G3779 for thus G1063   G1125 it has been written G1223 by G3588 the G4396 prophet,

  6 G2532 And G1473 you, G* Bethlehem, G1093 land G* of Judea, G3760 [²not at all G1646 ³least G1510.2.2 ¹are] G1722 in G3588 the G2232 governs G* of Judea. G1537 [²from out of G1473 ³you G1063 ¹For] G1831 shall come forth G2233 one leading, G3748 who G4165 shall tend G3588   G2992 my people G1473   G3588   G* Israel.

  7 G5119 Then G* Herod, G2977 in private G2564 having called G3588 the G3097 magi, G198 exacted G3844 from G1473 them G3588 the G5550 time G3588 of the G5316 [²appearing G792 ¹star].

  8 G2532 And G3992 having sent G1473 them G1519 unto G* Bethlehem, G2036 he said, G4198 Having gone, G199 exactly G1833 inquire G4012 concerning G3588 the G3813 child! G1875 And when G1161   G2147 you should have found, G518 report G1473 to me, G3704 so that G2504 I also G2064 having come G4352 should do obeisance G1473 to him.

  9 G3588 And they, G1161   G191 having heard G3588 the G935 king, G4198 went. G2532 And G2400 behold, G3588 the G792 star G3739 which G1492 they beheld G1722 in G3588 the G395 east G4254 led before G1473 them, G2193 until G2064 having come G2476 it stood G1883 above G3739 of which place G1510.7.3 [³was G3588 ¹the G3813 ²child].

  10 G1492 And beholding G1161   G3588 the G792 star, G5463 they rejoiced G5479 [²joy G3173 ¹a great], G4970 exceedingly.

  11 G2532 And G2064 having come G1519 unto G3588 the G3614 residence, G1492 they saw G3588 the G3813 child G3326 with G* Mary G3588   G3384 his mother. G1473   G2532 And G4098 having fallen, G4352 they did obeisance G1473 to him. G2532 And G455 having opened G3588   G2344 their treasuries, G1473   G4374 they offered G1473 to him G1435 gifts -- G5557 gold G2532 and G3030 frankincense G2532 and G4666 myrrh.

  12 G2532 And G5537 having received a divine message G2596 by G3677 dream, G3361 to not return G344   G4314 to G* Herod, G1223 [²by G243 ³another G3598 ⁴way G402 ¹they withdrew] G1519 unto G3588   G5561 their place. G1473  

  13 G402 [³withdrawing G1161 ¹And G1473 ²of their], G2400 behold, G32 an angel G2962 of the Lord G5316 appeared G2596 by G3677 dream G3588 to G* Joseph, G3004 saying, G1453 Having arisen, G3880 take to yourself G3588 the G3813 child G2532 and G3588   G3384 his mother, G1473   G2532 and G5343 flee G1519 into G* Egypt! G2532 and G1510.5 be G1563 there G2193 until G302 whenever G2036 I should speak G1473 to you! G3195 [³ is about G1063 ¹For G* ²Herod] G2212 to seek G3588 the G3813 child G3588   G622 to destroy G1473 it.

  14 G3588   G1161 And G1453 having arisen, G3880 he took to himself G3588 the G3813 child G2532 and G3588   G3384 his mother G1473   G3571 by night, G2532 and G402 he withdrew G1519 into G* Egypt.

  15 G2532 And G1510.7.3 he was G1563 there G2193 until G3588 the G5054 decease G* of Herod, G2443 that G4137 should be fulfilled G3588 the thing G4483 having been spoken G5259 by G3588 the G2962 Lord G1223 through G3588 the G4396 prophet, G3004 saying, G1537 From out of G* Egypt G2564 I called G3588   G5207 my son. G1473  

  16 G5119 Then G* Herod, G1492 knowing G3754 that G1702 he was mocked G5259 by G3588 the G3097 magi, G2373 was enraged G3029 exceedingly. G2532 And G649 having sent, G337 he did away with G3956 all G3588 the G3816 boys, G3588 the ones G1722 in G* Bethlehem, G2532 and G1722 in G3956 all G3588 the G3725 borders G1473 of it, G575 from G1332 two years old G2532 and G2736 below, G2596 according to G3588 the G5550 time G3739 which G198 was exacted G3844 from G3588 the G3097 magi.

  17 G5119 Then G4137 was fulfilled G3588 the thing G4483 having been spoken G5259 by G* Jeremiah G3588 the G4396 prophet, G3004 saying,

  18 G5456 A voice G1722 in G* Rama G191 was heard, G2355 wailing G2532 and G2805 weeping, G2532 and G3602 [²grieving G4183 ¹much], G* Rachel G2799 weeping over G3588   G5043 her children, G1473   G2532 and G3756 she wanted not G2309   G3870 to be comforted, G3754 for G3756 they are not. G1510.2.6  

  19 G5053 [³having come to an end G1161 ¹And G3588   G* ²Herod], G2400 behold, G32 an angel G2962 of the Lord G2596 by G3677 dream G5316 appears G3588 to G* Joseph G1722 in G* Egypt,

  20 G3004 saying, G1453 Having arisen, G3880 take to yourself G3588 the G3813 child G2532 and G3588   G3384 his mother, G1473   G2532 and G4198 go G1519 into G1093 the land G* of Israel! G2348 [⁸have died G1063   G1063 ¹for G3588 ²the ones G2212 ³seeking G3588 ⁴the G5590 ⁵life G3588 ⁶of the G3813 ⁷child]!

  21 G3588   G1161 And G1453 having arisen, G3880 he took to himself G3588 the G3813 child G2532 and G3588   G3384 his mother, G1473   G2532 and G2064 came G1519 into G1093 the land G* of Israel.

  22 G191 And having heard G1161   G3754 that G* Archelaus G936 reigned G1909 over G3588   G* Judea G473 instead of G* Herod G3588   G3962 his father, G1473   G5399 he feared G1563 to go forth there. G565   G5537 And having received a divine message G1161   G2596 by G3677 dream, G402 he withdrew G1519 into G3588 the G3313 parts G3588   G* of Galilee.

  23 G2532 And G2064 having come, G2730 he dwelt G1519 in G4172 a city G3004 being called G* Nazareth; G3704 so that G4137 should be fulfilled G3588 the thing G4483 having been spoken G1223 through G3588 the G4396 prophets, saying, G3754 For G* he shall be called a Nazarene. G2564
