John 8:42-47 Therefore Jesus said to them, If God were your Father, ye would love me, for I came forth and have come from God. For, neither have I come for myself, but he sent me.

ACV⁽ⁱ⁾ ⁴² Therefore Jesus said to them, If God were your Father, ye would love me, for I came forth and have come from God. For, neither have I come for myself, but he sent me. ⁴³ Why do ye not understand my speech? Because ye cannot hear my word. ⁴⁴ Ye are from the father, the devil, and ye want to do the desires of your father. He was a man-killer from the beginning, and he has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own, because he is a liar, and the father of it. ⁴⁵ And I, because I speak the truth, ye do not believe me. ⁴⁶ Which of you convicts me about sin? And if I speak truth, why do ye not believe me? ⁴⁷ He who is of God hears the sayings of God. Because of this ye do not hear, because ye are not of God.
