  1 H1113 Belshazzar H4430 the king H5648 made H7227 a great H3900 feast H506 to a thousand H7261 of his lords, H8355 and drank H2562 wine H6903 before H506 the thousand.
  2 H1113 Belshazzar, H2942 whiles he tasted H2562 the wine, H560 commanded H858 to bring H1722 the golden H3702 and silver H3984 vessels H1768 which H2 his father H5020 Nebuchadnezzar H5312 had taken H1965 out of the temple H1768 which H3390 was in Jerusalem; H4430 that the king, H7261 and his princes, H7695 his wives, H3904 and his concubines, H8355 might drink therein.
  3 H116 Then H858 they brought H1722 the golden H3984 vessels H5312 that were taken H1965 out of the temple H1005 of the house H426 of God H1768 which H3390 was at Jerusalem; H4430 and the king, H7261 and his princes, H7695 his wives, H3904 and his concubines, H8355 drank in them.
  4 H8355 They drank H2562 wine, H7624 and praised H426 the gods H1722 of gold, H3702 and of silver, H5174 of brass, H6523 of iron, H636 of wood, H69 and of stone.
  5 H8160 In the same hour H5312 came H5312 forth H677 fingers H606 of a man’s H3028 hand, H3790 and wrote H6903 over H6903 against H5043 the candlestick H1528 on the plaster H3797 of the wall H4430 of the king’s H1965 palace: H4430 and the king H2370 saw H6447 the part H3028 of the hand H3790 that wrote.
  6 H116 Then H4430 the king’s H2122 countenance H8133 was changed, H7476 and his thoughts H927 troubled H7001 him, so that the joints H2783 of his loins H8271 were loosed, H755 and his knees H5368 smote H1668 one H1668 against another.
  7 H4430 The king H7123 cried H2429 aloud H5924 to bring H826 in the astrologers, H3779 the Chaldeans, H1505 and the soothsayers. H4430 And the king H6032 spoke, H560 and said H2445 to the wise H895 men of Babylon, H3605 Whoever H7123 shall read H1836 this H3792 writing, H2324 and show H6591 me the interpretation H3848 thereof, shall be clothed H711 with scarlet, H2002 and have a chain H1722 of gold H5922 about H6676 his neck, H8523 and shall be the third H7981 ruler H4437 in the kingdom.
  8 H116 Then H5954 came H3606 in all H4430 the king’s H2445 wise H3546 men: but they could H7123 not read H3792 the writing, H3046 nor make known H4430 to the king H6591 the interpretation thereof.
  9 H116 Then H4430 was king H1113 Belshazzar H7690 greatly H927 troubled, H2122 and his countenance H8133 was changed H7261 in him, and his lords H7672 were astonished.
  10 H4433 Now the queen H6903 by reason H4406 of the words H4430 of the king H7261 and his lords H5954 came H4961 into the banquet H1005 house: H4433 and the queen H6032 spoke H560 and said, H4430 O king, H2418 live H5957 for ever: H7476 let not your thoughts H927 trouble H408 you, nor H2122 let your countenance H8133 be changed:
  11 H1400 There is a man H4437 in your kingdom, H1768 in whom H7308 is the spirit H6922 of the holy H426 gods; H3118 and in the days H2 of your father H5094 light H7924 and understanding H2452 and wisdom, H2452 like the wisdom H426 of the gods, H7912 was found H4430 in him; whom the king H5020 Nebuchadnezzar H2 your father, H4430 the king, H2 I say, your father, H7229 made master H2749 of the magicians, H826 astrologers, H3779 Chaldeans, H1505 and soothsayers;
  12 H3606 For as much H3493 as an excellent H7308 spirit, H998 and knowledge, H7924 and understanding, H6591 interpreting H2493 of dreams, H263 and showing H280 of hard H280 sentences, H8271 and dissolving H7001 of doubts, H7912 were found H1841 in the same Daniel, H1768 whom H4430 the king H8036 named H1096 Belteshazzar: H3705 now H1841 let Daniel H7123 be called, H2324 and he will show H6591 the interpretation.
  13 H116 Then H1841 was Daniel H5954 brought H6925 in before H4430 the king. H4430 And the king H6032 spoke H560 and said H1841 to Daniel, H1841 Are you that Daniel, H1768 which H1123 are of the children H1547 of the captivity H3061 of Judah, H1768 whom H4430 the king H2 my father H858 brought H3061 out of Jewry?
  14 H8086 I have even heard H7308 of you, that the spirit H426 of the gods H5094 is in you, and that light H7924 and understanding H3493 and excellent H2452 wisdom H7912 is found in you.
  15 H3705 And now H2445 the wise H826 men, the astrologers, H5954 have been brought H6925 in before H7123 me, that they should read H1836 this H3792 writing, H3046 and make known H6591 to me the interpretation H3546 thereof: but they could H2324 not show H6591 the interpretation H4406 of the thing:
  16 H8086 And I have heard H3202 of you, that you can H6591 make interpretations, H8271 and dissolve H7001 doubts: H3705 now H2006 if H3202 you can H7123 read H3792 the writing, H3046 and make known H6591 to me the interpretation H3848 thereof, you shall be clothed H711 with scarlet, H2002 and have a chain H1722 of gold H5922 about H6676 your neck, H8531 and shall be the third H7981 ruler H4437 in the kingdom.
  17 H116 Then H1841 Daniel H6032 answered H560 and said H6925 before H4430 the king, H4978 Let your gifts H3052 be to yourself, and give H5023 your rewards H321 to another; H1297 yet H7123 I will read H3792 the writing H4430 to the king, H3046 and make known H6591 to him the interpretation.
  18 H4430 O you king, H5943 the most H5943 high H426 God H3052 gave H5020 Nebuchadnezzar H2 your father H4437 a kingdom, H7238 and majesty, H3367 and glory, H1923 and honor:
  19 H7238 And for the majesty H3052 that he gave H3606 him, all H5972 people, H524 nations, H3961 and languages, H2112 trembled H1763 and feared H4481 before H6925 H1768 him: whom H6634 he would H6992 he slew; H1768 and whom H6634 he would H2418 he kept alive; H1768 and whom H6634 he would H7313 he set H6634 up; and whom he would H8214 he put H8214 down.
  20 H1768 But when H3825 his heart H7313 was lifted H7307 up, and his mind H8631 hardened H2103 in pride, H5182 he was deposed H4437 from his kingly H3764 throne, H5709 and they took H3367 his glory from him:
  21 H2957 And he was driven H1123 from the sons H606 of men; H3825 and his heart H7737 was made H5974 like H2423 the beasts, H4070 and his dwelling H6167 was with the wild H6167 asses: H2939 they fed H6211 him with grass H8450 like oxen, H1655 and his body H6647 was wet H2920 with the dew H8065 of heaven; H5704 till H3046 he knew H5943 that the most H5943 high H426 God H7990 ruled H4437 in the kingdom H606 of men, H6966 and that he appoints H5922 over H4479 it whomsoever H1768 H6634 he will.
  22 H1247 And you his son, H1113 O Belshazzar, H8214 have not humbled H3825 your heart, H3606 though H3046 you knew H3606 all H1836 this;
  23 H7313 But have lifted H5922 up yourself against H4756 the Lord H8065 of heaven; H858 and they have brought H3984 the vessels H1005 of his house H6925 before H7261 you, and you, and your lords, H7695 your wives, H3904 and your concubines, H8355 have drunk H2562 wine H7624 in them; and you have praised H426 the gods H3702 of silver, H1722 and gold, H5174 of brass, H6523 iron, H636 wood, H69 and stone, H1768 which H2370 see H3809 not, nor H8086 hear, H3809 nor H3046 know: H426 and the God H1768 in whose H3028 hand H5396 your breath H3606 is, and whose are all H735 your ways, H1922 have you not glorified:
  24 H116 Then H6447 was the part H3028 of the hand H7972 sent H1836 from him; and this H3792 writing H7560 was written.
  25 H1836 And this H3792 is the writing H7560 that was written, H4484 MENE, H4484 MENE, H8625 TEKEL, H6537 UPHARSIN.
  26 H1836 This H6591 is the interpretation H4406 of the thing: H4484 MENE; H426 God H4483 has numbered H4437 your kingdom, H8000 and finished it.
  27 H8625 TEKEL; H8625 You are weighed H3977 in the balances, H7912 and are found H2627 wanting.
  28 H6537 PERES; H4437 Your kingdom H6537 is divided, H3052 and given H4076 to the Medes H6540 and Persians.
  29 H116 Then H560 commanded H1113 Belshazzar, H3848 and they clothed H1841 Daniel H711 with scarlet, H2002 and put a chain H1722 of gold H5922 about H6676 his neck, H3745 and made a proclamation H5922 concerning H8531 him, that he should be the third H7990 ruler H4437 in the kingdom.
  30 H3916 In that night H1113 was Belshazzar H4430 the king H3779 of the Chaldeans H6992 slain.
  31 H1868 And Darius H4077 the Median H6902 took H4437 the kingdom, H8361 being about three score H8648 and two H8140 years H1247 old.
