Deuteronomy These be the words which Moses spoke to all Israel on this side Jordan in the wilderness, in the plain over against the Red sea, between Paran, and Tophel, and Laban, and Hazeroth, and Dizahab.

1 H428 These H1697 be the words H834 which H4872 Moses H1696 spoke H3605 to all H3478 Israel H5921 on H5676 this side H3383 Jordan H4057 in the wilderness, H6160 in the plain H4136 over H4136 against H5489 the Red H996 sea, between H6290 Paran, H8603 and Tophel, H3837 and Laban, H2698 and Hazeroth, H1774 and Dizahab.

2 H259 (There are eleven H6240 H3117 days’ H2722 journey from Horeb H1870 by the way H2022 of mount H8165 Seir H6947 to Kadeshbarnea.)

3 H1961 And it came H705 to pass in the fortieth H8141 year, H6249 in the eleventh H6240 H2320 month, H5921 on H259 the first H2320 day of the month, H4872 that Moses H1696 spoke H1121 to the children H3478 of Israel, H3605 according to all H3068 that the LORD H6680 had given him in commandment to them;

4 H310 After H5221 he had slain H5511 Sihon H4428 the king H567 of the Amorites, H834 which H3427 dwelled H2809 in Heshbon, H5747 and Og H4428 the king H1316 of Bashan, H834 which H3427 dwelled H6252 at Astaroth H154 in Edrei:

5 H5921 On H5676 this side H3383 Jordan, H776 in the land H4124 of Moab, H2974 began H4872 Moses H874 to declare H2063 this H8451 law, H559 saying,

6 H3068 The LORD H430 our God H1696 spoke H2722 to us in Horeb, H559 saying, H3427 You have dwelled H7227 long H2088 enough in this H2022 mount:

7 H6437 Turn H5265 you, and take your journey, H935 and go H2022 to the mount H567 of the Amorites, H3605 and to all H7934 the places near H6160 thereunto, in the plain, H2022 in the hills, H8219 and in the vale, H5045 and in the south, H3220 and by the sea H2348 side, H776 to the land H3669 of the Canaanites, H3844 and to Lebanon, H1419 to the great H5104 river, H5104 the river H6578 Euphrates.

8 H7200 Behold, H5414 I have set H776 the land H6440 before H935 you: go H3423 in and possess H776 the land H834 which H3068 the LORD H7650 swore H1 to your fathers, H85 Abraham, H3327 Isaac, H3290 and Jacob, H5414 to give H2233 to them and to their seed H310 after them.

9 H559 And I spoke H6256 to you at that time, H559 saying, H3201 I am not able H5375 to bear H905 you myself alone:

10 H3068 The LORD H430 your God H7235 has multiplied H2009 you, and, behold, H3117 you are this day H3556 as the stars H8064 of heaven H7230 for multitude.

11 H3068 (The LORD H430 God H1 of your fathers H5674 make H505 you a thousand H6471 times H3254 so many more H1288 as you are, and bless H1696 you, as he has promised you!)

12 H349 How H905 can I myself alone H5375 bear H2960 your cumbrance, H4853 and your burden, H7379 and your strife?

13 H3051 Take H2450 you wise H582 men, H995 and understanding, H3045 and known H7626 among your tribes, H7760 and I will make H7218 them rulers over you.

14 H6030 And you answered H559 me, and said, H1697 The thing H834 which H1696 you have spoken H2896 is good H6213 for us to do.

15 H3947 So I took H7218 the chief H7626 of your tribes, H2450 wise H582 men, H3045 and known, H5414 and made H7218 them heads H5921 over H8269 you, captains H505 over thousands, H8269 and captains H3967 over hundreds, H8269 and captains H2572 over fifties, H8269 and captains H6235 over tens, H7860 and officers H7626 among your tribes.

16 H6680 And I charged H8199 your judges H6256 at that time, H559 saying, H8085 Hear H996 the causes between H251 your brothers, H8199 and judge H6664 righteously H996 between H376 every man H251 and his brother, H1616 and the stranger that is with him.

17 H5234 You shall not respect H6440 persons H4941 in judgment; H8085 but you shall hear H6996 the small H1419 as well as the great; H1481 you shall not be afraid H6440 of the face H376 of man; H4941 for the judgment H430 is God’s: H1697 and the cause H7185 that is too hard H7126 for you, bring H8085 it to me, and I will hear it.

18 H6680 And I commanded H6256 you at that time H3605 all H1697 the things H834 which H6213 you should do.

19 H5265 And when we departed H2722 from Horeb, H3212 we went H3605 through all H1419 that great H3372 and terrible H4057 wilderness, H834 which H7200 you saw H1870 by the way H2022 of the mountain H567 of the Amorites, H3068 as the LORD H430 our God H6680 commanded H935 us; and we came H6947 to Kadeshbarnea.

20 H559 And I said H935 to you, You are come H2022 to the mountain H567 of the Amorites, H834 which H3068 the LORD H430 our God H5414 does give to us.

21 H7200 Behold, H3068 the LORD H430 your God H5414 has set H776 the land H6440 before H5927 you: go H3423 up and possess H3068 it, as the LORD H430 God H1 of your fathers H1696 has said H3372 to you; fear H408 not, neither H2865 be discouraged.

22 H7126 And you came H7126 near H3605 to me every H559 one of you, and said, H7971 We will send H582 men H6440 before H2658 us, and they shall search H776 us out the land, H7725 and bring H1697 us word H7725 again H834 by what H1870 way H5927 we must go H853 up, and into what H5892 cities H935 we shall come.

23 H1697 And the saying H3190 pleased H5869 H3947 me well: and I took H8147 twelve H6240 H582 men H259 of you, one H7626 of a tribe:

24 H6437 And they turned H5927 and went H2022 up into the mountain, H935 and came H5158 to the valley H812 of Eshcol, H7270 and searched it out.

25 H3947 And they took H6529 of the fruit H776 of the land H3027 in their hands, H3381 and brought H3381 it down H7725 to us, and brought H1697 us word H7725 again, H559 and said, H2896 It is a good H776 land H834 which H3068 the LORD H430 our God H5414 does give us.

26 H14 Notwithstanding you would H5927 not go H4784 up, but rebelled H6310 against the commandment H3068 of the LORD H430 your God:

27 H7279 And you murmured H168 in your tents, H559 and said, H3068 Because the LORD H8135 hated H3318 us, he has brought H3318 us forth H776 out of the land H4714 of Egypt, H5414 to deliver H3027 us into the hand H567 of the Amorites, H8045 to destroy us.

28 H575 Where H5927 shall we go H251 up? our brothers H4549 have discouraged H3824 our heart, H559 saying, H5971 The people H1419 is greater H7311 and taller H5892 than we; the cities H1419 are great H1219 and walled H8064 up to heaven; H1571 and moreover H7200 we have seen H1121 the sons H6062 of the Anakims H8033 there.

29 H559 Then I said H6206 to you, Dread H3808 not, neither H3372 be afraid of them.

30 H3068 The LORD H430 your God H1980 which goes H6440 before H3898 you, he shall fight H3605 for you, according to all H6213 that he did H4714 for you in Egypt H5869 before your eyes;

31 H4057 And in the wilderness, H834 where H7200 you have seen H3068 how that the LORD H430 your God H5375 bore H376 you, as a man H5375 does bear H1121 his son, H3605 in all H1870 the way H1980 that you went, H5704 until H935 you came H5704 into H2088 this H4725 place.

32 H2088 Yet in this H1697 thing H539 you did not believe H3068 the LORD H430 your God,

33 H1980 Who went H1870 in the way H6440 before H8446 you, to search H4725 you out a place H2583 to pitch H784 your tents in, in fire H3915 by night, H7200 to show H834 you by what H1870 way H3212 you should go, H6051 and in a cloud H3119 by day.

34 H3068 And the LORD H8085 heard H6963 the voice H1697 of your words, H7107 and was wroth, H7650 and swore, H559 saying,

35 H518 Surely H376 there shall not one H428 of these H582 men H2088 of this H7451 evil H1755 generation H7200 see H2896 that good H776 land, H834 which H7650 I swore H5414 to give H1 to your fathers.

36 H2108 Save H3612 Caleb H1121 the son H3312 of Jephunneh; H7200 he shall see H5414 it, and to him will I give H776 the land H1869 that he has trodden H1121 on, and to his children, H3282 because H834 H4390 he has wholly H310 followed H3068 the LORD.

37 H1571 Also H3068 the LORD H599 was angry H1558 with me for your sakes, H559 saying, H935 You also shall not go H8033 in thither.

38 H3091 But Joshua H1121 the son H5126 of Nun, H5975 which stands H6440 before H935 you, he shall go H8033 in thither: H2388 encourage H3478 him: for he shall cause Israel H5157 to inherit it.

39 H2945 Moreover your little H834 ones, which H559 you said H957 should be a prey, H1121 and your children, H834 which H3117 in that day H3808 had no H3045 knowledge H2896 between good H7451 and evil, H935 they shall go H8033 in thither, H5414 and to them will I give H3423 it, and they shall possess it.

40 H6437 But as for you, turn H5265 you, and take your journey H4057 into the wilderness H1870 by the way H5488 of the Red H3220 sea.

41 H6030 Then you answered H559 and said H2398 to me, We have sinned H3068 against the LORD, H5927 we will go H3898 up and fight, H3605 according to all H3068 that the LORD H430 our God H6680 commanded H2296 us. And when you had girded H5921 on H376 every H376 man H3627 his weapons H4421 of war, H1951 you were ready H5927 to go H2022 up into the hill.

42 H3068 And the LORD H559 said H559 to me, Say H5927 to them. Go H3808 not up, neither H3898 fight; H7130 for I am not among H3808 you; lest H5062 you be smitten H6440 before H341 your enemies.

43 H1696 So I spoke H8085 to you; and you would not hear, H4784 but rebelled H6310 against the commandment H3068 of the LORD, H5927 and went H2102 presumptuously H2022 up into the hill.

44 H567 And the Amorites, H3427 which dwelled H2022 in that mountain, H3318 came H7125 out against H7291 you, and chased H1682 you, as bees H6213 do, H3807 and destroyed H8165 you in Seir, H2767 even to Hormah.

45 H7725 And you returned H1058 and wept H6440 before H3068 the LORD; H3068 but the LORD H8085 would not listen H6963 to your voice, H3808 nor H238 give ear to you.

46 H3427 So you stayed H6946 in Kadesh H7227 many H3117 days, H3117 according to the days H3427 that you stayed there.
