Genesis 48 And it came to pass after these things, that one told Joseph, Behold, your father is sick: and he took with him his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim.

1 H1961 And it came H310 to pass after H428 these H1697 things, H559 that one told H3130 Joseph, H2009 Behold, H1 your father H2470 is sick: H3947 and he took H8147 with him his two H1121 sons, H4519 Manasseh H669 and Ephraim.

2 H5046 And one told H3290 Jacob, H559 and said, H2009 Behold, H1121 your son H3130 Joseph H935 comes H3478 to you: and Israel H2388 strengthened H3427 himself, and sat H4296 on the bed.

3 H3290 And Jacob H559 said H3130 to Joseph, H410 God H7706 Almighty H7200 appeared H3870 to me at Luz H776 in the land H3667 of Canaan, H1288 and blessed me,

4 H559 And said H2005 to me, Behold, H6509 I will make you fruitful, H7235 and multiply H5414 you, and I will make H6951 of you a multitude H5971 of people; H5414 and will give H2063 this H776 land H2233 to your seed H310 after H5769 you for an everlasting H272 possession.

5 H6258 And now H8147 your two H1121 sons, H669 Ephraim H4519 and Manasseh, H3205 which were born H776 to you in the land H4714 of Egypt H5704 before H935 I came H4714 to you into Egypt, H7205 are mine; as Reuben H8095 and Simeon, they shall be mine.

6 H4138 And your issue, H834 which H3205 you beget H310 after H7121 them, shall be yours, and shall be called H5921 after H8034 the name H251 of their brothers H5159 in their inheritance.

7 H935 And as for me, when I came H6307 from Padan, H7354 Rachel H4191 died H776 by me in the land H3667 of Canaan H1870 in the way, H5750 when H5750 yet H3530 there was but a little H776 way H935 to come H672 to Ephrath: H6912 and I buried H8033 her there H1870 in the way H672 of Ephrath; H1931 the same H1035 is Bethlehem.

8 H3478 And Israel H7200 beheld H3130 Joseph’s H1121 sons, H559 and said, H4310 Who H428 are these?

9 H3130 And Joseph H559 said H1 to his father, H1121 They are my sons, H834 whom H430 God H5414 has given H2088 me in this H559 place. And he said, H3947 Bring H4994 them, I pray H1288 you, to me, and I will bless them.

10 H5869 Now the eyes H3478 of Israel H3513 were dim H2207 for age, H3201 so that he could H7200 not see. H5066 And he brought H5066 them near H5401 to him; and he kissed H2263 them, and embraced them.

11 H3478 And Israel H559 said H3130 to Joseph, H6419 I had not thought H7200 to see H6440 your face: H2009 and, see, H430 God H7200 has showed H1571 me also H2233 your seed.

12 H3130 And Joseph H3318 brought H5973 them out from between H1290 his knees, H7812 and he bowed H639 himself with his face H776 to the earth.

13 H3130 And Joseph H3947 took H8147 them both, H669 Ephraim H3225 in his right H3225 hand H3478 toward Israel’s H8040 left H8040 hand, H4519 and Manasseh H8040 in his left H8040 hand H3478 toward Israel’s H3225 right H3225 hand, H5066 and brought H5066 them near to him.

14 H3478 And Israel H7971 stretched H3225 out his right H3225 hand, H7896 and laid H669 it on Ephraim’s H7218 head, H1931 who H6810 was the younger, H8040 and his left H8040 hand H4519 on Manasseh’s H7218 head, H3027 guiding his hands H7919 wittingly; H4519 for Manasseh H1060 was the firstborn.

15 H1288 And he blessed H3130 Joseph, H559 and said, H430 God, H6440 before H834 whom H1 my fathers H85 Abraham H3327 and Isaac H1980 did walk, H430 the God H7462 which fed H5750 me all my life long H2088 to this H3117 day,

16 H4397 The Angel H1350 which redeemed H3605 me from all H7451 evil, H1288 bless H5288 the lads; H8034 and let my name H7121 be named H8034 on them, and the name H1 of my fathers H85 Abraham H3327 and Isaac; H1711 and let them grow H7230 into a multitude H7130 in the middle H776 of the earth.

17 H3130 And when Joseph H7200 saw H1 that his father H7896 laid H3225 his right H3027 hand H7218 on the head H669 of Ephraim, H7489 it displeased H5869 H8551 him: and he held H1 up his father’s H3027 hand, H5493 to remove H669 it from Ephraim’s H7218 head H4519 to Manasseh’s H7218 head.

18 H3130 And Joseph H559 said H1 to his father, H3651 Not so, H1 my father: H2088 for this H1060 is the firstborn; H7760 put H3225 your right H3225 hand H7218 on his head.

19 H1 And his father H3985 refused, H559 and said, H3045 I know H1121 it, my son, H3045 I know H1571 it: he also H1961 shall become H5971 a people, H1571 and he also H1431 shall be great: H199 but truly H6996 his younger H251 brother H1431 shall be greater H2233 than he, and his seed H1961 shall become H4393 a multitude H1471 of nations.

20 H1288 And he blessed H3117 them that day, H559 saying, H3478 In you shall Israel H1288 bless, H559 saying, H430 God H6213 make H669 you as Ephraim H4519 and as Manasseh: H7760 and he set H669 Ephraim H6440 before H4519 Manasseh.

21 H3478 And Israel H559 said H3130 to Joseph, H2009 Behold, H4191 I die: H430 but God H7725 shall be with you, and bring H7725 you again H776 to the land H1 of your fathers.

22 H5414 Moreover I have given H259 to you one H7926 portion H5921 above H251 your brothers, H834 which H3947 I took H3027 out of the hand H567 of the Amorite H2719 with my sword H7198 and with my bow.
