Jeremiah 44 The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews which dwell in the land of Egypt, which dwell at Migdol, and at Tahpanhes, and at Noph, and in the country of Pathros, saying,

1 H1697 The word H1961 that came H3414 to Jeremiah H413 concerning H3605 all H3064 the Jews H3427 which dwell H776 in the land H4714 of Egypt, H3427 which dwell H4024 at Migdol, H8471 and at Tahpanhes, H5297 and at Noph, H776 and in the country H6624 of Pathros, H559 saying,

2 H3541 Thus H559 said H3068 the LORD H6635 of hosts, H430 the God H3478 of Israel; H7200 You have seen H3605 all H7451 the evil H935 that I have brought H3389 on Jerusalem, H3605 and on all H5892 the cities H3063 of Judah; H2009 and, behold, H2088 this H3117 day H2723 they are a desolation, H369 and no H3427 man dwells therein,

3 H6440 Because H7451 of their wickedness H834 which H6213 they have committed H3707 to provoke me to anger, H3212 in that they went H6999 to burn H6999 incense, H5647 and to serve H312 other H430 gods, H834 whom H3045 they knew H1 not, neither they, you, nor your fathers.

4 H7971 However, I sent H3605 to you all H5650 my servants H5030 the prophets, H7925 rising H7925 early H7971 and sending H559 them, saying, H4994 Oh, H6213 do H2088 not this H8441 abominable H1697 thing H8130 that I hate.

5 H8085 But they listened H3808 not, nor H5186 inclined H241 their ear H7725 to turn H7451 from their wickedness, H6999 to burn H1115 no H6999 incense H312 to other H430 gods.

6 H2534 Why my fury H639 and my anger H5413 was poured H1197 forth, and was kindled H5892 in the cities H3063 of Judah H2351 and in the streets H3389 of Jerusalem; H2723 and they are wasted H8077 and desolate, H2088 as at this H3117 day.

7 H6258 Therefore now H3541 thus H559 said H3068 the LORD, H430 the God H6635 of hosts, H430 the God H3478 of Israel; H4100 Why H6213 commit H1419 you this great H7451 evil H413 against H5315 your souls, H3772 to cut H376 off from you man H802 and woman, H5768 child H3243 and suckling, H3063 out of Judah, H3498 to leave H1115 you none H7611 to remain;

8 H3707 In that you provoke me to wrath H4639 with the works H3027 of your hands, H6999 burning H6999 incense H312 to other H430 gods H776 in the land H4714 of Egypt, H834 where H8033 H935 you be gone H1481 to dwell, H3772 that you might cut H7045 yourselves off, and that you might be a curse H2781 and a reproach H3605 among all H1471 the nations H776 of the earth?

9 H7911 Have you forgotten H7451 the wickedness H1 of your fathers, H7451 and the wickedness H4428 of the kings H3063 of Judah, H7451 and the wickedness H802 of their wives, H7451 and your own wickedness, H7451 and the wickedness H802 of your wives, H834 which H6213 they have committed H776 in the land H3063 of Judah, H2351 and in the streets H3389 of Jerusalem?

10 H1792 They are not humbled H2088 even to this H3117 day, H3808 neither H3372 have they feared, H3808 nor H1980 walked H8451 in my law, H2708 nor in my statutes, H5414 that I set H6440 before H6440 you and before H1 your fathers.

11 H3651 Therefore H3541 thus H559 said H3068 the LORD H6635 of hosts, H430 the God H3478 of Israel; H2005 Behold, H7760 I will set H6440 my face H7451 against you for evil, H3772 and to cut H3605 off all H3063 Judah.

12 H3947 And I will take H7611 the remnant H3063 of Judah, H7760 that have set H6440 their faces H935 to go H776 into the land H4714 of Egypt H1481 to sojourn H8033 there, H3605 and they shall all H8552 be consumed, H5307 and fall H776 in the land H4714 of Egypt; H8552 they shall even be consumed H2719 by the sword H7458 and by the famine: H4191 they shall die, H6996 from the least H1419 even to the greatest, H2719 by the sword H7458 and by the famine: H423 and they shall be an execration, H8047 and an astonishment, H7045 and a curse, H2781 and a reproach.

13 H6485 For I will punish H3427 them that dwell H776 in the land H4714 of Egypt, H6485 as I have punished H3389 Jerusalem, H2719 by the sword, H7458 by the famine, H1698 and by the pestilence:

14 H3808 So that none H7611 of the remnant H3063 of Judah, H935 which are gone H776 into the land H4714 of Egypt H1481 to sojourn H8033 there, H6412 shall escape H8300 or remain, H7725 that they should return H776 into the land H3063 of Judah, H834 to the which H5375 they have H5375 a desire H5315 H7725 to return H3427 to dwell H8033 there: H3808 for none H7725 shall return H6412 but such as shall escape.

15 H3605 Then all H582 the men H3045 which knew H802 that their wives H6999 had burned H6999 incense H312 to other H430 gods, H3605 and all H802 the women H5975 that stood H1419 by, a great H6951 multitude, H3605 even all H5971 the people H3427 that dwelled H776 in the land H4714 of Egypt, H6624 in Pathros, H6030 answered H3414 Jeremiah, H559 saying,

16 H1697 As for the word H1696 that you have spoken H8034 to us in the name H3068 of the LORD, H8085 we will not listen to you.

17 H6213 But we will certainly do H853 whatever H3605 H1697 thing H3318 goes H3318 forth H6310 out of our own mouth, H6999 to burn H6999 incense H4446 to the queen H8064 of heaven, H5258 and to pour H5262 out drink H6213 offerings to her, as we have done, H1 we, and our fathers, H4428 our kings, H8269 and our princes, H5892 in the cities H3063 of Judah, H2351 and in the streets H3389 of Jerusalem: H1961 for then had H7646 we plenty H3899 of victuals, H2896 and were well, H7200 and saw H3808 no H7451 evil.

18 H4480 But since H227 H2308 we left H6999 off to burn H6999 incense H4446 to the queen H8064 of heaven, H5258 and to pour H5262 out drink H2637 offerings to her, we have wanted H3605 all H8552 things, and have been consumed H2719 by the sword H7458 and by the famine.

19 H3588 And when H6999 we burned H6999 incense H4446 to the queen H8064 of heaven, H5258 and poured H5262 out drink H6213 offerings to her, did we make H3561 her cakes H6087 to worship H5258 her, and pour H5262 out drink H1107 offerings to her, without H582 our men?

20 H3414 Then Jeremiah H559 said H3605 to all H5971 the people, H1397 to the men, H802 and to the women, H3605 and to all H5971 the people H6030 which had given him that answer, H559 saying,

21 H7002 The incense H6999 that you burned H5892 in the cities H3063 of Judah, H2351 and in the streets H3389 of Jerusalem, H1 you, and your fathers, H4428 your kings, H8269 and your princes, H5971 and the people H776 of the land, H3068 did not the LORD H2142 remember H5927 them, and came H5921 it not into H3820 his mind?

22 H3068 So that the LORD H3201 could H3808 no H5750 longer H5375 bear, H6440 because H7455 of the evil H4611 of your doings, H6440 and because H8441 of the abominations H834 which H6213 you have committed; H776 therefore is your land H2723 a desolation, H8047 and an astonishment, H7045 and a curse, H369 without H3427 an inhabitant, H2088 as at this H3117 day.

23 H6440 Because H834 H6999 you have burned H6999 incense, H834 and because H2398 you have sinned H3068 against the LORD, H8085 and have not obeyed H6963 the voice H3068 of the LORD, H3808 nor H1980 walked H8451 in his law, H2708 nor in his statutes, H5715 nor in his testimonies; H5921 therefore H3652 H2063 this H7451 evil H7122 is happened H2088 to you, as at this H3117 day.

24 H3414 Moreover Jeremiah H559 said H3605 to all H5971 the people, H3605 and to all H802 the women, H8085 Hear H1697 the word H3068 of the LORD, H3605 all H3063 Judah H776 that are in the land H4714 of Egypt:

25 H3541 Thus H559 said H3068 the LORD H6635 of hosts, H430 the God H3478 of Israel, H559 saying; H802 You and your wives H1696 have both spoken H6310 with your mouths, H4390 and fulfilled H3027 with your hand, H559 saying, H6213 We will surely perform H5088 our vows H5087 that we have vowed, H6999 to burn H6999 incense H4446 to the queen H8064 of heaven, H5258 and to pour H5262 out drink H6965 offerings to her: you will surely accomplish H5088 your vows, H6213 and surely perform H5088 your vows.

26 H3651 Therefore H8085 hear H1697 you the word H3068 of the LORD, H3605 all H3063 Judah H3427 that dwell H776 in the land H4714 of Egypt; H2005 Behold, H7650 I have sworn H1419 by my great H8034 name, H559 said H3068 the LORD, H8034 that my name H518 shall no H5750 more H7121 be named H6310 in the mouth H3605 of any H376 man H3063 of Judah H3605 in all H776 the land H4714 of Egypt, H559 saying, H136 The Lord H3069 GOD H2416 lives.

27 H2005 Behold, H8245 I will watch H5921 over H7451 them for evil, H2896 and not for good: H3605 and all H376 the men H3063 of Judah H776 that are in the land H4714 of Egypt H8552 shall be consumed H2719 by the sword H7458 and by the famine, H5704 until H3615 there be an end of them.

28 H4962 Yet a small H4557 number H6412 that escape H2719 the sword H7725 shall return H776 out of the land H4714 of Egypt H776 into the land H3063 of Judah, H3605 and all H7611 the remnant H3063 of Judah, H935 that are gone H776 into the land H4714 of Egypt H1481 to sojourn H8033 there, H3045 shall know H4310 whose H1697 words H6965 shall stand, H1992 mine, or their’s.

29 H2063 And this H226 shall be a sign H5002 to you, said H3068 the LORD, H6485 that I will punish H2088 you in this H4725 place, H3045 that you may know H1697 that my words H6965 shall surely stand H5921 against H7451 you for evil:

30 H3541 Thus H559 said H3068 the LORD; H2005 Behold, H5414 I will give H6548 Pharaohhophra H4428 king H4714 of Egypt H3027 into the hand H341 of his enemies, H3027 and into the hand H1245 of them that seek H5315 his life; H5414 as I gave H6667 Zedekiah H4428 king H3063 of Judah H3027 into the hand H5019 of Nebuchadrezzar H4428 king H894 of Babylon, H341 his enemy, H1245 and that sought H5315 his life.
