Joshua Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ minister, saying,

2 H4872 Moses H5650 my servant H4191 is dead; H6258 now H6965 therefore arise, H5674 go H5674 over H3383 this Jordan, H3605 you, and all H2088 this H5971 people, H776 to the land H834 which H5414 I do give H1121 to them, even to the children H3478 of Israel.

3 H3605 Every H4725 place H3709 that the sole H7272 of your foot H1869 shall tread H5414 on, that have I given H1696 to you, as I said H4872 to Moses.

4 H4057 From the wilderness H2088 and this H3844 Lebanon H1419 even to the great H5104 river, H5104 the river H6578 Euphrates, H3605 all H776 the land H2850 of the Hittites, H1419 and to the great H3220 sea H3996 toward the going H3996 down H8121 of the sun, H1366 shall be your coast.

5 H376 There shall not any man H3320 be able H3320 to stand H6440 before H3605 you all H3117 the days H2416 of your life: H4872 as I was with Moses, H7503 so I will be with you: I will not fail H3808 you, nor H5800 forsake you.

6 H2388 Be strong H553 and of a good courage: H2088 for to this H5971 people H5157 shall you divide for an inheritance H776 the land, H834 which H7650 I swore H1 to their fathers H5414 to give them.

7 H7535 Only H2388 be you strong H3966 and very H553 courageous, H8104 that you may observe H6213 to do H3605 according to all H8451 the law, H834 which H4872 Moses H5650 my servant H6680 commanded H5493 you: turn H3225 not from it to the right H3225 hand H8040 or to the left, H7919 that you may prosper H3605 wherever H834 H3212 you go.

8 H2088 This H5612 book H8451 of the law H4185 shall not depart H6310 out of your mouth; H1897 but you shall meditate H3119 therein day H3915 and night, H8104 that you may observe H6213 to do H3605 according to all H3789 that is written H227 therein: for then H1870 you shall make your way H6743 prosperous, H227 and then H7919 you shall have good success.

9 H6680 Have not I commanded H2388 you? Be strong H553 and of a good courage; H6206 be not afraid, H408 neither H2865 be you dismayed: H3068 for the LORD H430 your God H3605 is with you wherever H834 H3212 you go.

10 H3091 Then Joshua H6680 commanded H7860 the officers H5971 of the people, H559 saying,

11 H5674 Pass H7130 through H4264 the host, H6680 and command H5971 the people, H559 saying, H3559 Prepare H6720 you victuals; H5750 for within H7969 three H3117 days H5674 you shall pass H5674 over H2088 this H3383 Jordan, H935 to go H3423 in to possess H776 the land, H834 which H3068 the LORD H430 your God H5414 gives H3423 you to possess it.

12 H7206 And to the Reubenites, H1425 and to the Gadites, H2677 and to half H7626 the tribe H4519 of Manasseh, H559 spoke H3091 Joshua, H559 saying,

13 H2142 Remember H1697 the word H834 which H4872 Moses H5650 the servant H3068 of the LORD H6680 commanded H559 you, saying, H3068 The LORD H430 your God H5117 has given you rest, H5414 and has given H2063 you this H776 land.

14 H802 Your wives, H2945 your little H4735 ones, and your cattle, H3427 shall remain H776 in the land H834 which H4872 Moses H5414 gave H5676 you on this side H3383 Jordan; H5674 but you shall pass H6440 before H251 your brothers H2571 armed, H3605 all H1368 the mighty H2428 men of valor, H5826 and help them;

15 H5704 Until H3068 the LORD H251 have given your brothers H5117 rest, H1571 as he has given you, and they also H3423 have possessed H776 the land H834 which H3068 the LORD H430 your God H5414 gives H7725 them: then you shall return H776 to the land H3425 of your possession, H3423 and enjoy H834 it, which H4872 Moses H3068 the LORD’s H5650 servant H5414 gave H5676 you on this side H3383 Jordan H4217 toward the sun rise. 16 H6030 And they answered H3091 Joshua, H559 saying, H3605 All H6680 that you command H6213 us we will do, H413 and wherever H7971 you send H3212 us, we will go.

17 H8085 According as we listened H4872 to Moses H3605 in all H3651 things, so H8085 will we listen H7535 to you: only H3068 the LORD H430 your God H4872 be with you, as he was with Moses.

18 H376 Whoever H834 H4784 he be that does rebel H6310 against your commandment, H8085 and will not listen H1697 to your words H3605 in all H6680 that you command H4191 him, he shall be put to death: H7535 only H2388 be strong H553 and of a good courage.
