1 Samuel 27 And David said in his heart, I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul: there is nothing better for me than that I should escape into the land of the Philistines; and Saul will despair of me, to seek me any more in all the borders of Israel: so shall I escape out of his hand.

2 H1732 And David H6965 arose, H5674 and passed over, H8337 he and the six H3967 hundred H376 men H397 that were with him, unto Achish H1121 the son H4582 of Maoch, H4428 king H1661 of Gath.

3 H1732 And David H3427 dwelt H397 with Achish H1661 at Gath, H582 he and his men, H376 every man H1004 with his household, H1732 even David H8147 with his two H802 wives, H293 Ahinoam H3159 the Jezreelitess, H26 and Abigail H3762 the Carmelitess, H5037 Nabal's H802 wife.

4 H5046 And it was told H7586 Saul H1732 that David H1272 was fled H1661 to Gath: H1245 and he sought H3254 no more again for him.

5 H1732 And David H559 said H397 unto Achish, H4672 If now I have found H2580 favor H5869 in thine eyes, H5414 let them give H4725 me a place H259 in one H5892 of the cities H7704 in the country, H3427 that I may dwell H5650 there: for why should thy servant H3427 dwell H4467 in the royal H5892 city with thee?

6 H397 Then Achish H5414 gave H6860 him Ziklag H3117 that day: H6860 wherefore Ziklag H4428 pertaineth unto the kings H3063 of Judah H3117 unto this day.

7 H4557 And the number H1732 of the days that David H3427 dwelt H7704 in the country H6430 of the Philistines H3117 was a full year H702 and four H2320 months.

8 H1732 And David H582 and his men H5927 went up, H6584 and made a raid H1651 upon the Geshurites, H1511 and the Girzites, H6003 and the Amalekites; H2007 for those H3427 nations were the inhabitants H776 of the land, H5769 who were of old, H935 as thou goest H7793 to Shur, H776 even unto the land H4714 of Egypt.

9 H1732 And David H5221 smote H776 the land, H376 and saved neither man H802 nor woman H2421 alive, H3947 and took away H6629 the sheep, H1241 and the oxen, H2543 and the asses, H1581 and the camels, H899 and the apparel; H7725 and he returned, H935 and came H397 to Achish.

10 H397 And Achish H559 said, H408 Against whom H6584 have ye made a raid H3117 to-day? H1732 And David H559 said, H5045 Against the South H3063 of Judah, H5045 and against the South H3397 of the Jerahmeelites, H5045 and against the South H7017 of the Kenites.

11 H1732 And David H2421 saved H376 neither man H802 nor woman H2421 alive, H935 to bring H1661 them to Gath, H559 saying, H5046 Lest they should tell H559 of us, saying, H6213 So did H1732 David, H4941 and so hath been his manner H3117 all the while H3427 he hath dwelt H7704 in the country H6430 of the Philistines.

12 H397 And Achish H539 believed H1732 David, H559 saying, H5971 He hath made his people H3478 Israel H887 utterly H887 to abhor H5650 him; therefore he shall be my servant H5769 for ever.
