2 Chronicles 23 And in the seventh year Jehoiada strengthened himself, and took the captains of hundreds, Azariah the son of Jeroham, and Ishmael the son of Jehohanan, and Azariah the son of Obed, and Maaseiah the son of Adaiah, and Elishaphat the son of Zichri, into covenant with him.

1 H7637 And in the seventh H8141 year H3077 Jehoiada H2388 strengthened H3947 himself, and took H8269 the captains H3967 of hundreds, H5838 Azariah H1121 the son H3395 of Jeroham, H3458 and Ishmael H1121 the son H3076 of Jehohanan, H5838 and Azariah H1121 the son H5744 of Obed, H4641 and Maaseiah H1121 the son H5718 of Adaiah, H478 and Elishaphat H1121 the son H2147 of Zichri, H1285 into covenant with him.

2 H5437 And they went about H3063 in Judah, H6908 and gathered H3881 the Levites H5892 out of all the cities H3063 of Judah, H7218 and the heads H1 of fathers' H3478 houses of Israel, H935 and they came H3389 to Jerusalem.

3 H6951 And all the assembly H3772 made H1285 a covenant H4428 with the king H1004 in the house H430 of God. H559 And he said H4428 unto them, Behold, the king's H1121 son H4427 shall reign, H3068 as Jehovah H1696 hath spoken H1121 concerning the sons H1732 of David.

4 H1697 This is the thing H6213 that ye shall do: H7992 a third part H935 of you, that come in H7676 on the sabbath, H3548 of the priests H3881 and of the Levites, H7778 shall be porters H5592 of the thresholds;

5 H7992 and a third part H4428 shall be at the king's H1004 house; H7992 and a third part H8179 at the gate H3247 of the foundation: H5971 and all the people H2691 shall be in the courts H1004 of the house H3068 of Jehovah.

6 H935 But let none come H1004 into the house H3068 of Jehovah, H3548 save the priests, H8334 and they that minister H3881 of the Levites; H935 they shall come in, H6944 for they are holy: H5971 but all the people H8104 shall keep H4931 the charge H3068 of Jehovah.

7 H3881 And the Levites H5362 shall compass H4428 the king H5439 round about, H376 every man H3627 with his weapons H3027 in his hand; H935 and whosoever cometh H1004 into the house, H4191 let him be slain: H4428 and be ye with the king H935 when he cometh in, H3318 and when he goeth out.

8 H3881 So the Levites H3063 and all Judah H6213 did H3077 according to all that Jehoiada H3548 the priest H6680 commanded: H3947 and they took H376 every man H376 his men, H935 those that were to come in H7676 on the sabbath; H3318 with those that were to go H7676 out on the sabbath; H3077 for Jehoiada H3548 the priest H6358 dismissed H4256 not the courses.

9 H3077 And Jehoiada H3548 the priest H5414 delivered H8269 to the captains H3967 of hundreds H2595 the spears, H4043 and bucklers, H7982 and shields, H4428 that had been king H1732 David's, H1004 which were in the house H430 of God.

10 H5975 And he set H5971 all the people, H376 every man H7973 with his weapon H3027 in his hand, H3233 from the right H3802 side H1004 of the house H8042 to the left H3802 side H1004 of the house, H4196 along by the altar H1004 and the house, H4428 by the king H5439 round about.

11 H3318 Then they brought out H4428 the king's H1121 son, H5414 and put H5145 the crown H5715 upon him, and gave him the testimony, H4427 and made him king: H3077 and Jehoiada H1121 and his sons H4886 anointed H559 him; and they said, H2421 Long live H4428 the king.

12 H6271 And when Athaliah H8085 heard H6963 the noise H5971 of the people H7323 running H1984 and praising H4428 the king, H935 she came H5971 to the people H1004 into the house H3068 of Jehovah:

13 H7200 and she looked, H4428 and, behold, the king H5975 stood H5982 by his pillar H3996 at the entrance, H8269 and the captains H2689 and the trumpets H4428 by the king; H5971 and all the people H776 of the land H8056 rejoiced, H8628 and blew H2689 trumpets; H7891 the singers H3627 also played on instruments H7892 of music, H3045 and led H1984 the singing of praise. H6271 Then Athaliah H7167 rent H899 her clothes, H559 and said, H7195 Treason! H7195 treason!

14 H3077 And Jehoiada H3548 the priest H3318 brought out H8269 the captains H3967 of hundreds H6485 that were set over H2428 the host, H559 and said H3318 unto them, Have her forth H1004 between the ranks; H935 and whoso followeth H4191 her, let him be slain H2719 with the sword: H3548 for the priest H559 said, H4191 Slay H1004 her not in the house H3068 of Jehovah.

15 H7760 So they made H3027 way H935 for her; and she went H3996 to the entrance H5483 of the horse H8179 gate H4428 to the king's H1004 house: H4191 and they slew her there.

16 H3077 And Jehoiada H3772 made H1285 a covenant H5971 between himself, and all the people, H4428 and the king, H3068 that they should be Jehovah's H5971 people.

17 H5971 And all the people H935 went H1004 to the house H1168 of Baal, H5422 and brake it down, H7665 and brake H4196 his altars H6754 and his images H7665 in pieces, H2026 and slew H4977 Mattan H3548 the priest H1168 of Baal H6440 before H4196 the altars.

18 H3077 And Jehoiada H7760 appointed H6486 the officers H1004 of the house H3068 of Jehovah H3027 under the hand H3548 of the priests H3881 the Levites, H1732 whom David H2505 had distributed H1004 in the house H3068 of Jehovah, H5927 to offer H5930 the burnt-offerings H3068 of Jehovah, H3789 as it is written H8451 in the law H4872 of Moses, H8057 with rejoicing H7892 and with singing, H3027 according to the order H1732 of David.

19 H5975 And he set H7778 the porters H8179 at the gates H1004 of the house H3068 of Jehovah, H2931 that none that was unclean H935 in H1697 anything H935 should enter in.

20 H3947 And he took H8269 the captains H3967 of hundreds, H117 and the nobles, H4910 and the governors H5971 of the people, H5971 and all the people H776 of the land, H3381 and brought down H4428 the king H1004 from the house H3068 of Jehovah: H935 and they came H8432 through H5945 the upper H8179 gate H4428 unto the king's H1004 house, H3427 and set H4428 the king H3678 upon the throne H4467 of the kingdom.

21 H5971 So all the people H776 of the land H8055 rejoiced, H5892 and the city H8252 was quiet. H6271 And Athaliah H4191 they had slain H2719 with the sword.
