Judges 1:22-29

  22 H1004 And the house H3130 of Joseph, H5927 they also went up H1008 against Beth-el; H3068 and Jehovah was with them.

  23 H1004 And the house H3130 of Joseph H8446 sent to spy H1008 out Beth-el. H8034 (Now the name H5892 of the city H6440 beforetime H3870 was Luz.)

  24 H8104 And the watchers H7200 saw H376 a man H3318 come forth H5892 out of the city, H559 and they said H7200 unto him, Show H3996 us, we pray thee, the entrance H5892 into the city, H6213 and we will deal H2617 kindly with thee.

  25 H7200 And he showed H3996 them the entrance H5892 into the city; H5221 and they smote H5892 the city H6310 with the edge H2719 of the sword; H376 but they let the man H7971 go H4940 and all his family.

  26 H376 And the man H3212 went H776 into the land H2850 of the Hittites, H1129 and built H5892 a city, H7121 and called H8034 the name H3870 thereof Luz, H8034 which is the name H3117 thereof unto this day.

  27 H4519 And Manasseh H3423 did not drive out H1052 the inhabitants of Beth-shean H1323 and its towns, H8590 nor of Taanach H1323 and its towns, H3427 nor the inhabitants H1756 of Dor H1323 and its towns, H3427 nor the inhabitants H2991 of Ibleam H1323 and its towns, H3427 nor the inhabitants H4023 of Megiddo H1323 and its towns; H3669 but the Canaanites H2974 would H3427 dwell H776 in that land.

  28 H3478 And it came to pass, when Israel H2388 was waxed strong, H7760 that they put H3669 the Canaanites H4522 to taskwork, H3423 and did not utterly H3423 drive them out.

  29 H669 And Ephraim H3423 drove not out H3669 the Canaanites H3427 that dwelt H1507 in Gezer; H3669 but the Canaanites H3427 dwelt H1507 in Gezer H7130 among them.
