Hoph`al Participle כְּקוֺץ מֻנָֿד 2Sam 23:6 and the worthless, like briers made to flutter (tossed away) are they (text dubious; Klo Bu HPS read מדבר). Hithpo`lel Perfect 3 feminine singular וְהִתְנוֺדֲדָה consecutive Isa 24:20 Imperfect 2 masculine singular תִּתְנוֺדָ֑ד Jer 48:27 Participle מִתְנוֺדֵד Jer 31:18 —

1. move oneself to and fro, sway, totter, Isa 24:20 (of earth).

2. shake oneself, in excitement Jer 48:27 (perhaps of scorn = wag the head, as Hiph`il Jer 18:16 compare Gf RV).

3. bemoan oneself (compare Qal 2), Jer 31:18 (the lament follows in oratio recta [direct speech]).
