Zechariah In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the Lord unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,

1 H8066 In the eighth H2320 month, H8147 in the second H8141 year H1867 of Darius, H1697 came the word H3068 of the Lord H2148 unto Zechariah, H1121 the son H1296 of Berechiah, H1121 the son H5714 of Iddo H5030 the prophet, H559 saying,

2 H3068 The Lord H7110 has been severely H7107 displeased H1 with your fathers.

3 H559 Therefore say H559 unto them, Thus says H3068 the Lord H6635 of hosts; H7725 Turn H5002 unto me, says H3068 the Lord H6635 of hosts, H7725 and I will turn H559 unto you, says H3068 the Lord H6635 of hosts.

4 H1 Be you not as your fathers, H7223 unto whom the former H5030 prophets H7121 have cried, H559 saying, H559 Thus says H3068 the Lord H6635 of hosts; H7725 Turn H7451 now from your evil H1870 ways, H7451 and from your evil H4611 doings: H8085 but they did not hear, H7181 nor listen H5002 unto me, says H3068 the Lord.

5 H1 Your fathers, H5030 where are they? and the prophets, H2421 do they live H5769 for ever?

6 H1697 But my words H2706 and my statutes, H6680 which I commanded H5650 my servants H5030 the prophets, H5381 did they not take hold H1 of your fathers? H7725 and they returned H559 and said, H3068 Like as the Lord H6635 of hosts H2161 thought H6213 to do H1870 unto us, according to our ways, H4611 and according to our doings, H6213 so has he dealt with us.

7 H702 Upon the four H6242 and twentieth H3117 day H6249 of the eleventh H2320 month, H2320 which is the month H7627 Sebat, H8147 in the second H8141 year H1867 of Darius, H1697 came the word H3068 of the Lord H2148 unto Zechariah, H1121 the son H1296 of Berechiah, H1121 the son H5714 of Iddo H5030 the prophet, H559 saying,

8 H7200 I saw H3915 by night, H376 and behold a man H7392 riding H122 upon a red H5483 horse, H5975 and he stood H1918 among the myrtle trees H4699 that were in the bottom; H310 and behind H122 him were there red H5483 horses, H8320 speckled, H3836 and white.

9 H559 Then said H113 I, O my lord, H4397 what are these? And the angel H1696 that talked H559 with me said H7200 unto me, I will show you what these be.

10 H376 And the man H5975 that stood H1918 among the myrtle trees H6030 answered H559 and said, H3068 These are they whom the Lord H7971 has sent H1980 to walk H776 to and forth through the earth.

11 H6030 And they answered H4397 the angel H3068 of the Lord H5975 that stood H1918 among the myrtle trees, H559 and said, H1980 We have walked to and forth H776 through the earth, H776 and, behold, all the earth H3427 sits still, H8252 and is at rest.

12 H4397 Then the angel H3068 of the Lord H6030 answered H559 and said, H3068 O Lord H6635 of hosts, H7355 how long will you not have mercy H3389 on Jerusalem H5892 and on the cities H3063 of Judah, H2194 against which you have had indignation H7657 these sixty and ten H8141 years?

13 H3068 And the Lord H6030 answered H4397 the angel H1696 that talked H2896 with me with good H1697 words H5150 and comfortable H1697 words.

14 H4397 So the angel H1696 that talked H559 with me said H7121 unto me, Cry H559 you, saying, H559 Thus says H3068 the Lord H6635 of hosts; H7065 I am jealous H3389 for Jerusalem H6726 and for Zion H1419 with a great H7068 jealousy.

15 H1419 And I am very H7110 severely H7107 displeased H1471 with the heathen H7600 that are at ease: H4592 for I was but a little H7107 displeased, H5826 and they helped H7451 forward the affliction.

16 H559 Therefore thus says H3068 the Lord; H7725 I am returned H3389 to Jerusalem H7356 with mercies: H1004 my house H1129 shall be built H5002 in it, says H3068 the Lord H6635 of hosts, H6957 and a line H5186 shall be stretched forth H3389 upon Jerusalem.

17 H7121 Cry H559 yet, saying, H559 Thus says H3068 the Lord H6635 of hosts; H5892 My cities H2896 through prosperity H6327 shall yet be spread abroad; H3068 and the Lord H5162 shall yet comfort H6726 Zion, H977 and shall yet choose H3389 Jerusalem.

18 H5375 Then lifted I up H5869 my eyes, H7200 and saw, H702 and behold four H7161 horns.

19 H559 And I said H4397 unto the angel H1696 that talked H559 with me, What be these? And he answered H7161 me, These are the horns H2219 which have scattered H3063 Judah, H3478 Israel, H3389 and Jerusalem.

20 H3068 And the Lord H7200 showed H702 me four H2796 carpenters.

21 H559 Then said H935 I, What come H6213 these to do? H559 And he spoke, H559 saying, H7161 These are the horns H2219 which have scattered H3063 Judah, H6310 so that H376 no man H5375 did lift up H7218 his head: H935 but these are come H2729 to frighten H3034 them, to cast out H7161 the horns H1471 of the Nations, H5375 which lifted up H7161 their horn H776 over the land H3063 of Judah H2219 to scatter it.
