Hosea 7

CLV(i) 1 as My healing is for Israel, then the depravity of Ephraim is revealed and the evils of Samaria. For they contrive falsehood, and the thief is coming, and the raiding party emerges into the street." 2 They avoid saying to their heart that I remember all their evil. Now their own actions surround them; in front of My face they come. 3 With their evil they are rejoicing the king, and with their dissimulation, the chiefs." 4 All of them are adulterers, as a stove consuming the fuel, because the baker is ceasing to stoke when kneading the dough, till it leavens." 5 On the day of our king, the chiefs start a fury; because of wine, he draws to his hand the mockers." 6 For they kindle their heart as a stove, in their ambush; all the night their anger is smoking; in the morning it is consuming as a blazing fire." 7 All of them are being warmed as by a stove, and they devour their judges. All their kings fall; there is none among them calling to Me." 8 Ephraim--among the peoples is he mingling himself. Ephraim becomes an ember cake, unturned." 9 Aliens devour his vigor, yet he does not know. Moreover, grey hair sprinkles on him, yet he does not know." 10 The pomp of Israel answers to his face, yet they do not return to Yahweh their Elohim, nor do they seek Him in all this." 11 And Ephraim is becoming as an enticing, heartless dove. On Egypt they call; to Assyria they go." 12 Just as they are going I will spread My net over them; as if a flyer of the heavens I will bring them down. I will discipline them as the report to their congregation. 13 Woe to them! for they wander from Me. Devastation to them! for they transgress against Me. When I am ransoming them, then they speak lies against Me." 14 And they do not cry out to Me with their heart, for they are howling on their beds; over grain and grape juice they are stirring themselves up; they are withdrawing from Me." 15 And I disciplined; I made their arm steadfast, yet against Me are they devising evil." 16 They are not returning to the Supreme; they become as a deceptive bow. Their chiefs shall fall by the sword, because of the menace of their tongue; this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt."
