1 Samuel 4

ECB(i) 1 and the word of Shemu El comes to all Yisra El.
THE ARK CAPTURED
And Yisra El goes out to meet the Peleshethiy to war and encamps beside Eben Ezer; and the Peleshethiy encamp in Apheq; 2 and the Peleshethiy line up to meet Yisra El: and they allow war and the Peleshethiy smite Yisra El at their face: and they smite about four thousand men of the ranks in the field: 3 and when the people come into the camp the elders of Yisra El say, Yah Veh - why smites he us today at the face of the Peleshethiy? Let us take the ark of the covenant of Yah Veh from Shiloh to us; to come among us and save us from the palm of our enemies. 4 So the people send to Shiloh, and from there bear the ark of the covenant of Yah Veh Sabaoth which settles between the cherubim: and Hophni and Pinechas the two sons of Eli are there with the ark of the covenant of Elohim: 5 and when the ark of the covenant of Yah Veh comes into the camp, all Yisra El shouts a great shout so that the earth quakes. 6 And the Peleshethiy hear the voice of the shout, and they say, What is the voice of this great shout in the camp of the Hebrews? And they know that the ark of Yah Veh comes into the camp: 7 and the Peleshethiy awe, for they say, Elohim comes into the camp. And they say, Woe to us! for such never became since three yesters ago. 8 Woe to us! Who rescues us from the hand of these mighty elohim - these elohim who smote the Misrayim with all the strokes in the wilderness? 9 Strengthen! Become men, O you Peleshethiy! - that you not be servants to the Hebrews as they served you. Become men! And fight! 10 And the Peleshethiy fight and smite Yisra El; and every man flees to his tent: and there is a mighty great stroke; for thirty thousand of Yisra El on foot fall. 11 And they take the ark of Elohim; and deathify Hophni and Pinechas the two sons of Eli. 12
THE DEATH OF ELI
And a man of the ranks of Ben Yamin runs and comes to Shiloh the same day with his tailoring ripped and with soil on his head: 13 and he comes, and behold, Eli settles on a throne by the hand of the way watching: for his heart trembles for the ark of Elohim: and the man comes into the city and tells it, and all the city cries out. 14 And Eli hears the voice of the cry, and he says, What is the voice of this multitude? - and the man comes in hastily and tells Eli. 15 And Eli is a son of ninety-eight years; and his eyes rise so he cannot see. 16 And the man says to Eli, I come from the ranks and today I flee from the ranks. And he says, What is the word, my son? 17 And he who evangelizes, answers and says, Yisra El flees the face of the Peleshethiy and also a great plague became among the people - and they also deathified your two sons Hophni and Pinechas; and took the ark of Elohim. 18 And so be it, he remembers the ark of Elohim, and he falls off the throne backward through the handle of the portal; and his neck breaks and he dies: for he is an old man and heavy. And he judges Yisra El forty years. 19
THE BIRTH OF IY CHABOD
And his daughter in law, the woman of Pinechas, conceives, near to birth: and when she hears the report that they took the ark of Elohim and deathified her father in law and her man, she bows herself and births; for her pains turn on her. 20 And about the time she dies, the women stationed by her word to her, Awe not; you birth a son. But she neither answers, nor sets her heart: 21 and she calls the lad Iy Chabod, saying, The honor is exiled from Yisra El! - because they took the ark of Elohim and because of her father in law and her man. 22 And she says, The honor is exiled from Yisra El: because they took the ark of Elohim.
