YIRME YAH INSCRIBES A SCROLL
And so be it, in the fourth year of Yah Yaqim the son of Yoshi Yah sovereign of Yah Hudah, so be the word to Yirme Yah from Yah Veh, saying, 2 Take a roll of a scroll, and inscribe therein all the words I worded to you against Yisra El and against Yah Hudah and against all the goyim from the day I worded to you - from the days of Yoshi Yah even to this day. 3 Perhaps the house of Yah Hudah hears all the evil I fabricate to work to them; so that every man returns from his evil way and I forgive their perversity and their sin. 4 And Yirme Yah calls Baruch the son of Neri Yah: and from the mouth of Yirme Yah Baruch inscribes all the words of Yah Veh, that he words him on a roll of a scroll: 5 and Yirme Yah misvahs Baruch, saying, I am restrained; I cannot enter the house of Yah Veh: 6 but you enter, and call out in the roll, what you inscribe from my mouth - the words of Yah Veh in the ears of the people in the house of Yah Veh on the day of fasting: and also call them out in the ears of all Yah Hudah who come from their cities: 7 perhaps they fell their supplications at the face of Yah Veh so that every man returns from his evil way: for great is the wrath and the fury Yah Veh words against this people. 8 And Baruch the son of Neri Yah works according to all Yirme Yah the prophet misvahs him - calling out in the scroll the words of Yah Veh in the house of Yah Veh. 9 And so be it in the fifth year of Yah Yaqim the son of Yoshi Yah sovereign of Yah Hudah, in the ninth month, they call a fast at the face of Yah Veh to all the people in Yeru Shalem, and to all the people coming from the cities of Yah Hudah to Yeru Shalem. 10 And Baruch calls out in the scroll the words of Yirme Yah in the house of Yah Veh in the chamber of Gemar Yah the son of Shaphan the scribe - in the most high court at the opening of the new portal of the house of Yah Veh - in the ears of all the people. 11 And Michah Yah the son of Gemar Yah the son of Shaphan hears all the words of Yah Veh from the scroll: 12 and he descends to the house of the sovereign to the chamber of the scribe: and behold, all the governors sit there - Eli Shama the scribe and Dela Yah the son of Shema Yah and El Nathan the son of Achbor and Gemar Yah the son of Shaphan and Sidqi Yah the son of Hanan Yah with all the governors. 13 And Michah Yah tells them all the words he heard when Baruch called out the scroll in the ears of the people. 14 And all the governors send Yah Hudiy the son of Nethan Yah the son of Shelem Yah the son of Kushiy to Baruch, saying, Take in your hand the roll wherein you called out in the ears of the people and come. And Baruch the son of Neri Yah takes the roll in his hand, and comes to them: 15 and they say to him, Sit down, I beseech, and call it out in our ears. - and Baruch calls it out in their ears. 16 And so be it, they hear all the words, and man and friend fear; and say to Baruch, In telling, we tell all these words to the sovereign. 17 And they ask Baruch, saying, Tell us, I beseech, How inscribed you all these words at his mouth? 18 Then Baruch says to them, He called out all these words to me with his mouth and I inscribed with ink in the scroll. 19 Then the governors say to Baruch, Go, hide - you and Yirme Yah; so that no man knows where. 20
YAH YAQIM BURNS THE SCROLL OF YIRME YAH
And they go in to the sovereign into the court, and they oversee the roll in the chamber of Eli Shama the scribe; and tell all the words in the ears of the sovereign. 21 And the sovereign sends Yah Hudiy to take the roll: and he takes it from the chamber of Eli Shama the scribe: and Yah Hudiy calls it out in the ears of the sovereign and in the ears of all the governors standing beside the sovereign: 22 and the sovereign is sitting in the winterhouse in the ninth month: and the hearth burns at his face. 23 And so be it, when Yah Hudiy calls out three or four leaves, he rips it with the knife of the scribe and casts it into the fire on the hearth - until all the roll consumes in the fire on the hearth: 24 and they neither fear nor rip their clothes - neither the sovereign nor any of his servants who hear all these words. 25 And El Nathan and Dela Yah and Gemar Yah intercede to the sovereign to not burn the roll: but he hears them not. 26 And the sovereign misvahs Yerachme El the son of Melech and Sera Yah the son of Ezri El and Shelem Yah the son of Abde El to take Baruch the scribe and Yirme Yah the prophet: and Yah Veh hides them. 27
YIRME YAH INSCRIBES A SECOND SCROLL
And so be the word of Yah Veh to Yirme Yah after the sovereign burns the roll with the words Baruch inscribed at the mouth of Yirme Yah, saying, 28 Return, take another roll, and inscribe therein all the former words in the first roll that Yah Yaqim the sovereign of Yah Hudah burned: 29 and say to Yah Yaqim sovereign of Yah Hudah, Thus says Yah Veh: You burned this roll, saying, Why inscribed you therein, saying, In coming, the sovereign of Babel comes and ruins this land, and shabbathizes humanity and animal from it? 30 So thus says Yah Veh of Yah Yaqim sovereign of Yah Hudah; No one of his is to sit on the throne of David and his carcase is cast out - to the parchness in the day and to the frost in the night: 31 and I visit on him and his seed and his servants for their perversity; and I bring on them and on the settlers of Yeru Shalem and on the men of Yah Hudah all the evil I worded against them: and they hearken not. 32 And Yirme Yah takes another roll and gives it to Baruch the scribe the son of Neri Yah; who inscribes therein from the mouth of Yirme Yah all the words of the scroll Yah Yaqim sovereign of Yah Hudah burned in the fire: and added besides many like words to them.
