Nehemiah 8

ECB(i) 1
EZRA CALLS OUT THE TORAH
And all the people gather as one man into the broadway at the face of the water portal; and they say to Ezra the scribe to bring the scroll of the torah of Mosheh which Yah Veh misvahed to Yisra El: 2 and Ezra the priest brings the torah at the face of the congregation - both of men and women; and all who discern to hearken; on the first day of the seventh month. 3 And he calls out therein at the face of the broadway at the face of the water portal from the light until midday; in front of the men and the women and all who discern; and the ears of all the people to the scroll of the torah. 4 And Ezra the scribe stands on a tower of timber they worked for the word; and Mattith Yah stands beside him; and Shema and Ana Yah and Uri Yah and Hilqi Yah and Maase Yah, on his right; Malki Yah and Hashum and Hashbad Danah, Zechar Yah and Meshullam. 5 And Ezra opens the scroll in the eyes of all the people - he being above all the people and he opens it and all the people stand: 6 and Ezra blesses Yah Veh the great Elohim. And all the people answer, Amen! Amen! - they raise their hands and they bow their heads and prostrate to Yah Veh with their nostrils to the earth. 7 And Yah Shua and Bani and Shereb Yah, Yamin, Aqqub, Shabbethay, Hodi Yah, Maase Yah, Qelita, Azar Yah, Yah Zabad, Hanan, Pela Yah and the Leviym, have the people discern the torah: and the people are in their station: 8 and they call out in the scroll in the torah of Elohim expressly and set the comprehension and have them discern the convocation. 9 And Nechem Yah the governor and Ezra the priest the scribe and the Leviym have the people discern; and say to all the people, This day is holy to Yah Veh your Elohim; neither mourn, nor weep. - for all the people weep when they hear the words of the torah. 10 And he says to them, Go your way, eat the fat and drink the sweet and send portions to them for whom naught is prepared: for this day is holy to our Adonay. Contort not; for the rejoicing of Yah Veh is your stronghold. 11 And the Leviym hush all the people, saying, Hush, for the day is holy! Contort not. 12 And all the people go their way to eat and to drink and to send portions and to work great cheer - because they discern the words made known to them. 13 And on the second day the heads of the fathers of all the people, the priests and the Leviym, gather to Ezra the scribe, even to comprehend the words of the torah. 14
THE CELEBRATION OF SUKKOTH/BRUSH ARBORS
And they find inscribed in the torah what Yah Veh misvahed by the hand of Mosheh; that the sons of Yisra El settle in sukkoth/brush arbors in the celebration of the seventh month: 15 and they are heard passing a voice in all their cities and in Yeru Shalem, saying, Go forth to the mount and fetch olive leaves and leaves of oil trees and myrtle leaves and palm tree leaves and leaves of thick trees, to work sukkoth/brush arbors, as inscribed. 16 And the people go and bring and work themselves sukkoth/brush arbors, - each man on the roof of his house and in their courts and in the courts of the house of Elohim and in the broadway of the water portal and in the broadway of the portal of Ephrayim. 17 And all the congregation who returned from the captivity work sukkoth/brush arbors and settle under the sukkoth/brush arbors: for since the days of Yah Shua the son of Nun to that day the sons of Yisra El had not worked thus: and there is mighty great cheerfulness: 18 and day by day, from the first day to the last day, he calls out the scroll of the torah of Elohim. - and they work the celebration seven days; and on the eighth day is a private assembly according to the judgment.
