1 A Song of Degrees by David. Unless Yah Veh had been for us I beseech, O Yisra El, say,
2 Unless Yah Veh had been for us, when humanity rose against us;
3 then they had swallowed us alive when they kindled their wrath against us:
4 the waters had overflowed us; the wadi had passed over our soul;
5 the overflowing waters had passed over our soul.
6 Blessed - Yah Veh, who gave us not as a prey to their teeth:
7 our soul escaped as a bird from the snare of the ensnarers; the snare broke and we escaped.
8 Our help is in the name of Yah Veh, who worked the heavens and earth.
