BOOK II To His Eminence; On Comprehension: For the sons of Qorach. As the hart yearns after the reservoirs of water, thus yearns my soul after you, O Elohim. 2 My soul thirsts for Elohim, for the living El. When come I to see the face of Elohim? 3 My tears are my bread day and night, while all day they say to me, Where is your Elohim? 4 When I remember these, I pour my soul within me; I pass with the multitude - walk gently with them to the house of Elohim with the voice of shouting and spread hands - with a multitude who celebrate. 5 Why prostrate, O my soul? Why roar within me? Await Elohim; for I still spread hands to him for the salvation of his face. 6 O my Elohim, my soul prostrates within me; so I remember you from the land of Yarden and of the Hermoniym, from the little mountain. 7 Abyss calls to abyss at the voice culverts; all your breakers and your waves pass over me. 8 Yet Yah Veh misvahs his mercy in the day; and in the night his song is with me: and my prayer to the El of my life. 9 I say to El my rock, Why forget you me? Why go I darkened because of the oppression of the enemy? 10 With murder in my bones, my tribulators reproach me; all day they say to me, Where is your Elohim? 11 Why prostrate, O my soul? Why roar within me? Hope in Elohim; for I spread hands to him - the salvation of my face and my Elohim.
