BOOK IV A Prayer of Mosheh, the man of Elohim. Adonay, you have been our habitation generation to generation. 2 ere the mountains were birthed; or ever you writhed the earth and the world; even from eternity to eternity - you are El. 3 You return man to crush; and say, Return, you sons of humanity. 4 For a thousand years in your eyes are as yesterday when it is past - a watch in the night. 5 Floodborne, as asleep; in the morning, as grass that changes. 6 In the morning, flourishes and changes; in the evening, cut and withered: 7 for we are finished off by your wrath and terrified by your fury. 8 You set our perversities in front of you, our concealments in the light of your face. 9 For all our days turn face in your fury; we finish off our years as a meditation: 10 the days of our years, seventy years; and if by might, eighty years; yet their pride is toil and mischief - quickly passed over and we fly away. 11 Who knows the strength of your wrath? As your awe, thus your fury. 12 So have us know to number our days, so that we apply our hearts to wisdom. 13 Return, O Yah Veh! Until when? Sigh concerning your servants! 14 O satisfy us mornings with your mercy; so that we shout and cheer all our days: 15 cheer us according to the days you humbled us and the years we saw evil; 16 show your deeds to your servants and your majesty to their sons; 17 that the pleasantness of Yah Veh our Elohim be on us: establish the work of our hands on us; yes, the work of our hands, establish it.
