2 Kings

  1 H6586 ויפשׁע rebelled H4124 מואב Then Moab H3478 בישׂראל against Israel H310 אחרי after H4194 מות the death H256 אחאב׃ of Ahab.

  2 H5307 ויפל fell down H274 אחזיה And Ahaziah H1157 בעד through H7639 השׂבכה a lattice H5944 בעליתו in his upper chamber H834 אשׁר that H8111 בשׁמרון in Samaria, H2470 ויחל and was sick: H7971 וישׁלח and he sent H4397 מלאכים messengers, H559 ויאמר and said H413 אלהם unto H1980 לכו them, Go, H1875 דרשׁו inquire H1176 בבעל זבוב of Baal-zebub H430 אלהי the god H6138 עקרון of Ekron H518 אם whether H2421 אחיה I shall recover H2483 מחלי   H2088 זה׃  

  3 H4397 ומלאך But the angel H3068 יהוה of the LORD H1696 דבר said H413 אל to H452 אליה Elijah H8664 התשׁבי the Tishbite, H6965 קום Arise, H5927 עלה go up H7125 לקראת to meet H4397 מלאכי the messengers H4428 מלך of the king H8111 שׁמרון of Samaria, H1696 ודבר and say H413 אלהם unto H1097 המבלי them, not because H369 אין not H430 אלהים a God H3478 בישׂראל in Israel, H859 אתם ye H1980 הלכים go H1875 לדרשׁ to inquire H1176 בבעל זבוב of Baal-zebub H430 אלהי the god H6138 עקרון׃ of Ekron?

  4 H3651 ולכן Now therefore H3541 כה thus H559 אמר saith H3068 יהוה the LORD, H4296 המטה that bed H834 אשׁר on which H5927 עלית thou art gone up, H8033 שׁם on which H3808 לא Thou shalt not H3381 תרד come down H4480 ממנה from H3588 כי but H4191 מות shalt surely die. H4191 תמות shalt surely die. H1980 וילך departed. H452 אליה׃ And Elijah

  5 H7725 וישׁובו turned back H4397 המלאכים And when the messengers H413 אליו unto H559 ויאמר him, he said H413 אליהם unto H4100 מה them, Why H2088 זה are ye now H7725 שׁבתם׃ turned back?

  6 H559 ויאמרו And they said H413 אליו unto H376 אישׁ a man H5927 עלה him, There came H7125 לקראתנו to meet H559 ויאמר us, and said H413 אלינו unto H1980 לכו us, Go, H7725 שׁובו turn again H413 אל unto H4428 המלך the king H834 אשׁר that H7971 שׁלח sent H853 אתכם   H1696 ודברתם you, and say H413 אליו unto H3541 כה him, Thus H559 אמר saith H3068 יהוה the LORD, H1097 המבלי not because H369 אין not H430 אלהים a God H3478 בישׂראל in Israel, H859 אתה thou H7971 שׁלח sendest H1875 לדרשׁ to inquire H1176 בבעל זבוב of Baal-zebub H430 אלהי the god H6138 עקרון of Ekron? H3651 לכן therefore H4296 המטה that bed H834 אשׁר on which H5927 עלית up H8033 שׁם on which H3808 לא thou shalt not H3381 תרד come down H4480 ממנה not because H3588 כי but H4191 מות shalt surely die. H4191 תמות׃ shalt surely die.

  7 H1696 וידבר And he said H413 אלהם unto H4100 מה them, What H4941 משׁפט manner H376 האישׁ of man H834 אשׁר which H5927 עלה came up H7125 לקראתכם to meet H1696 וידבר you, and told H413 אליכם you, and told H853 את   H1697 הדברים words? H428 האלה׃ you these

  8 H559 ויאמרו And he said, H413 אליו   H376 אישׁ him, a hairy man, H1167 בעל   H8181 שׂער   H232 ואזור with a girdle H5785 עור of leather H247 אזור and girt H4975 במתניו about his loins. H559 ויאמר   H452 אליה Elijah H8664 התשׁבי the Tishbite. H1931 הוא׃ It

  9 H7971 וישׁלח Then the king sent H413 אליו unto H8269 שׂר him a captain H2572 חמשׁים of fifty H2572 וחמשׁיו with his fifty. H5927 ויעל And he went up H413 אליו to H2009 והנה him: and, behold, H3427 ישׁב he sat H5921 על on H7218 ראשׁ the top H2022 ההר of a hill. H1696 וידבר And he spoke H413 אליו unto H376 אישׁ him, Thou man H430 האלהים of God, H4428 המלך the king H1696 דבר hath said, H3381 רדה׃ Come down.

  10 H6030 ויענה answered H452 אליהו And Elijah H1696 וידבר and said H413 אל to H8269 שׂר the captain H2572 החמשׁים of fifty, H518 ואם If H376 אישׁ a man H430 אלהים of God, H589 אני I H3381 תרד come down H784 אשׁ then let fire H4480 מן from H8064 השׁמים heaven, H398 ותאכל and consume H853 אתך   H853 ואת   H2572 חמשׁיך thee and thy fifty. H3381 ותרד And there came down H784 אשׁ fire H4480 מן from H8064 השׁמים heaven, H398 ותאכל and consumed H853 אתו   H853 ואת   H2572 חמשׁיו׃ him and his fifty.

  11 H7725 וישׁב Again H7971 וישׁלח also he sent H413 אליו unto H8269 שׂר captain H2572 חמשׁים of fifty H312 אחר him another H2572 וחמשׁיו with his fifty. H6030 ויען And he answered H1696 וידבר and said H413 אליו unto H376 אישׁ him, O man H430 האלהים of God, H3541 כה thus H559 אמר said, H4428 המלך hath the king H4120 מהרה quickly. H3381 רדה׃ Come down

  12 H6030 ויען answered H452 אליה And Elijah H1696 וידבר and said H413 אליהם unto H518 אם them, If H376 אישׁ a man H430 האלהים of God, H589 אני I H3381 תרד come down H784 אשׁ let fire H4480 מן from H8064 השׁמים heaven, H398 ותאכל and consume H853 אתך   H853 ואת   H2572 חמשׁיך thee and thy fifty. H3381 ותרד came down H784 אשׁ And the fire H430 אלהים of God H4480 מן from H8064 השׁמים heaven, H398 ותאכל and consumed H853 אתו   H853 ואת   H2572 חמשׁיו׃ him and his fifty.

  13 H7725 וישׁב again H7971 וישׁלח And he sent H8269 שׂר a captain H2572 חמשׁים fifty H7992 שׁלשׁים of the third H2572 וחמשׁיו with his fifty. H5927 ויעל went up, H935 ויבא and came H8269 שׂר captain H2572 החמשׁים of fifty H7992 השׁלישׁי And the third H3766 ויכרע and fell H5921 על on H1290 ברכיו his knees H5048 לנגד before H452 אליהו Elijah, H2603 ויתחנן and besought H413 אליו and besought H1696 וידבר him, and said H413 אליו unto H376 אישׁ him, O man H430 האלהים of God, H3365 תיקר be precious H4994 נא I pray thee, H5315 נפשׁי let my life, H5315 ונפשׁ and the life H5650 עבדיך thy servants, H428 אלה of these H2572 חמשׁים fifty H5869 בעיניך׃ in thy sight.

  14 H2009 הנה Behold, H3381 ירדה there came fire down H784 אשׁ there came fire down H4480 מן from H8064 השׁמים heaven, H398 ותאכל and burnt up H853 את   H8147 שׁני the two H8269 שׂרי captains H2572 החמשׁים fifties H7223 הראשׁנים of the former H853 ואת   H2572 חמשׁיהם with their fifties: H6258 ועתה now H3365 תיקר be precious H5315 נפשׁי therefore let my life H5869 בעיניך׃ in thy sight.

  15 H1696 וידבר said H4397 מלאך And the angel H3069 יהוה   H413 אל unto H452 אליהו Elijah, H3381 רד Go down H854 אותו with H408 אל him: be not afraid H3372 תירא him: be not afraid H6440 מפניו of H6965 ויקם him. And he arose, H3381 וירד and went down H854 אותו with H413 אל him unto H4428 המלך׃ the king.

  16 H1696 וידבר And he said H413 אליו unto H3541 כה him, Thus H559 אמר saith H3068 יהוה the LORD, H3282 יען   H834 אשׁר on which H7971 שׁלחת thou hast sent H4397 מלאכים messengers H1875 לדרשׁ to inquire H1176 בבעל זבוב of Baal-zebub H430 אלהי the god H6138 עקרון of Ekron, H1097 המבלי not because H369 אין no H430 אלהים God H3478 בישׂראל in Israel H1875 לדרשׁ to inquire H1697 בדברו of his word? H3651 לכן therefore H4296 המטה that bed H834 אשׁר   H5927 עלית thou art gone up, H8033 שׁם on which H3808 לא thou shalt not H3381 תרד come down H4480 ממנה not because H3588 כי but H4191 מות shalt surely die. H4191 תמות׃ shalt surely die.

  17 H4191 וימת So he died H1697 כדבר according to the word H3068 יהוה of the LORD H834 אשׁר which H1696 דבר had spoken. H452 אליהו Elijah H4427 וימלך reigned H3088 יהורם And Jehoram H8478 תחתיו in his stead H8141 בשׁנת year H8147 שׁתים in the second H3088 ליהורם of Jehoram H1121 בן the son H3092 יהושׁפט of Jehoshaphat H4428 מלך King H3063 יהודה of Judah: H3588 כי because H3808 לא no H1961 היה he had H1121 לו בן׃ son.

  18 H3499 ויתר Now the rest H1697 דברי of the acts H274 אחזיהו of Ahaziah H834 אשׁר which H6213 עשׂה he did H3808 הלוא not H1992 המה they H3789 כתובים written H5921 על in H5612 ספר the book H1697 דברי of the chronicles H3117 הימים of the chronicles H4428 למלכי of the kings H3478 ישׂראל׃ of Israel?
