  1 H6419 וכהתפלל had prayed, H5830 עזרא Now when Ezra H3034 וכהתודתו and when he had confessed, H1058 בכה weeping H5307 ומתנפל and casting himself down H6440 לפני before H1004 בית the house H430 האלהים of God, H6908 נקבצו there assembled H413 אליו unto H3478 מישׂראל   H6951 קהל congregation H7227 רב great H3966 מאד a very H582 אנשׁים   H802 ונשׁים and women H3206 וילדים and children: H3588 כי for H1058 בכו wept H5971 העם the people H7235 הרבה very sore. H1059 בכה׃ very sore.
  2 H6030 ויען answered H7935 שׁכניה And Shechaniah H1121 בן the son H3171 יחיאל of Jehiel, H1121 מבני of the sons H5867 עולם of Elam, H559 ויאמר and said H5830 לעזרא unto Ezra, H587 אנחנו We H4603 מעלנו have trespassed H430 באלהינו against our God, H3427 ונשׁב and have taken H802 נשׁים wives H5237 נכריות strange H5971 מעמי of the people H776 הארץ of the land: H6258 ועתה yet now H3426 ישׁ there is H4723 מקוה hope H3478 לישׂראל in Israel H5921 על concerning H2063 זאת׃ this
  3 H6258 ועתה Now H3772 נכרת therefore let us make H1285 ברית a covenant H430 לאלהינו with our God H3318 להוציא to put away H3605 כל all H802 נשׁים the wives, H3205 והנולד and such as are born H1992 מהם   H6098 בעצת them, according to the counsel H113 אדני   H2730 והחרדים and of those that tremble H4687 במצות at the commandment H430 אלהינו of our God; H8451 וכתורה according to the law. H6213 יעשׂה׃ and let it be done
  4 H6965 קום Arise; H3588 כי for H5921 עליך unto H1697 הדבר matter H587 ואנחנו thee: we H5973 עמך also with H2388 חזק thee: be of good courage, H6213 ועשׂה׃ and do
  5 H6965 ויקם Then arose H5830 עזרא Ezra, H7650 וישׁבע to swear H853 את   H8269 שׂרי and made the chief H3548 הכהנים priests, H3881 הלוים the Levites, H3605 וכל and all H3478 ישׂראל Israel, H6213 לעשׂות that they should do H1697 כדבר word. H2088 הזה according to this H7650 וישׁבעו׃ And they swore.
  6 H6965 ויקם rose up H5830 עזרא Then Ezra H6440 מלפני from before H1004 בית the house H430 האלהים of God, H1980 וילך and went H413 אל into H3957 לשׁכת the chamber H3076 יהוחנן of Johanan H1121 בן the son H475 אלישׁיב of Eliashib: H1980 וילך and he came H8033 שׁם thither, H3899 לחם bread, H3808 לא no H398 אכל he did eat H4325 ומים water: H3808 לא nor H8354 שׁתה drink H3588 כי for H56 מתאבל he mourned H5921 על because H4604 מעל of the transgression H1473 הגולה׃ of them that had been carried away.
  7 H5674 ויעבירו   H6963 קול   H3063 ביהודה throughout Judah H3389 וירושׁלם and Jerusalem H3605 לכל unto all H1121 בני the children H1473 הגולה of the captivity, H6908 להקבץ that they should gather themselves together H3389 ירושׁלם׃ unto Jerusalem;
  8 H3605 וכל all H834 אשׁר   H3808 לא would not H935 יבוא come H7969 לשׁלשׁת within three H3117 הימים days, H6098 כעצת according to the counsel H8269 השׂרים of the princes H2205 והזקנים and the elders, H2763 יחרם should be forfeited, H3605 כל   H7399 רכושׁו his substance H1931 והוא and himself H914 יבדל separated H6951 מקהל from the congregation H1473 הגולה׃ of those that had been carried away.
  9 H6908 ויקבצו gathered themselves together H3605 כל Then all H376 אנשׁי the men H3063 יהודה of Judah H1144 ובנימן and Benjamin H3389 ירושׁלם unto Jerusalem H7969 לשׁלשׁת within three H3117 הימים days. H1931 הוא It H2320 חדשׁ month, H8671 התשׁיעי the ninth H6242 בעשׂרים on the twentieth H2320 בחדשׁ of the month; H3427 וישׁבו sat H3605 כל and all H5971 העם the people H7339 ברחוב in the street H1004 בית of the house H430 האלהים of God, H7460 מרעידים trembling H5921 על because H1697 הדבר of matter, H1653 ומהגשׁמים׃ and for the great rain.
  10 H6965 ויקם stood up, H5830 עזרא And Ezra H3548 הכהן the priest H559 ויאמר and said H413 אלהם unto H859 אתם them, Ye H4603 מעלתם have transgressed, H3427 ותשׁיבו and have taken H802 נשׁים wives, H5237 נכריות strange H3254 להוסיף to increase H5921 על to increase H819 אשׁמת the trespass H3478 ישׂראל׃ of Israel.
  11 H6258 ועתה Now H5414 תנו therefore make H8426 תודה confession H3068 ליהוה unto the LORD H430 אלהי God H1 אבתיכם of your fathers, H6213 ועשׂו and do H7522 רצונו his pleasure: H914 והבדלו and separate yourselves H5971 מעמי from the people H776 הארץ of the land, H4480 ומן from the people H802 הנשׁים wives. H5237 הנכריות׃ the strange
  12 H6030 ויענו answered H3605 כל Then all H6951 הקהל the congregation H559 ויאמרו and said H6963 קול voice, H1419 גדול with a loud H3651 כן so H1697 כדבריך   H5921 עלינו   H6213 לעשׂות׃ must we do.
  13 H61 אבל But H5971 העם the people H7227 רב many, H6256 והעת and a time H1653 גשׁמים of much rain, H369 ואין and we are not H3581 כח able H5975 לעמוד to stand H2351 בחוץ without, H4399 והמלאכה a work H3808 לא neither H3117 ליום day H259 אחד of one H3808 ולא or H8147 לשׁנים two: H3588 כי for H7235 הרבינו we are many H6586 לפשׁע that have transgressed H1697 בדבר thing.   16 H6213 ויעשׂו did H3651 כן so. H1121 בני And the children H1473 הגולה of the captivity H914 ויבדלו were separated, H5830 עזרא And Ezra H3548 הכהן the priest, H376 אנשׁים certain H7218 ראשׁי chief H1 האבות of the fathers, H1004 לבית after the house H1 אבתם of their fathers, H3605 וכלם and all H8034 בשׁמות of them by names, H3427 וישׁבו and sat down H3117 ביום day H259 אחד in the first H2320 לחדשׁ month H6224 העשׂירי of the tenth H1875 לדריושׁ to examine H1697 הדבר׃ the matter.

  19 H5414 ויתנו And they gave H3027 ידם their hands H3318 להוציא that they would put away H802 נשׁיהם their wives; H818 ואשׁמים and guilty, H352 איל a ram H6629 צאן of the flock H5921 על for H819 אשׁמתם׃ their trespass.
  20 H1121 ומבני   H564 אמר of Immer; H2607 חנני Hanani, H2069 וזבדיה׃ and Zebadiah.
  21 H1121 ומבני   H2766 חרם of Harim; H4641 מעשׂיה Maaseiah, H452 ואליה and Elijah, H8098 ושׁמעיה and Shemaiah, H3171 ויחיאל and Jehiel, H5818 ועזיה׃ and Uzziah.
  22 H1121 ומבני   H6583 פשׁחור of Pashur; H454 אליועיני Elioenai, H4641 מעשׂיה Maaseiah, H3458 ישׁמעאל Ishmael, H5417 נתנאל Nethaneel, H3107 יוזבד Jozabad, H501 ואלעשׂה׃ and Elasah.
  23 H4480 ומן Also of H3881 הלוים the Levites; H3107 יוזבד Jozabad, H8096 ושׁמעי and Shimei, H7041 וקליה and Kelaiah, H1931 הוא (the same H7042 קליטא Kelita,) H6611 פתחיה Pethahiah, H3063 יהודה Judah, H461 ואליעזר׃ and Eliezer.
  24 H4480 ומן Of H7891 המשׁררים the singers H475 אלישׁיב also; Eliashib: H4480 ומן and of H7778 השׁערים the porters; H7967 שׁלם Shallum, H2928 וטלם and Telem, H221 ואורי׃ and Uri.
  25 H3478 ומישׂראל   H1121 מבני of the sons H6551 פרעשׁ of Parosh; H7422 רמיה Ramiah, H3150 ויזיה and Jeziah, H4441 ומלכיה and Malchiah, H4326 ומימן and Miamin, H499 ואלעזר and Eleazar, H4441 ומלכיה and Malchijah, H1141 ובניה׃ and Benaiah.
  26 H1121 ומבני   H5867 עילם of Elam; H4983 מתניה Mattaniah, H2148 זכריה Zechariah, H3171 ויחיאל and Jehiel, H5660 ועבדי and Abdi, H3406 וירמות and Jeremoth, H452 ואליה׃ and Eliah.

  31 H1121 ובני And the sons H2766 חרם of Harim; H461 אליעזר Eliezer, H3449 ישׁיה Ishijah, H4441 מלכיה Malchiah, H8098 שׁמעיה Shemaiah, H8095 שׁמעון׃ Shimeon,
  32 H1144 בנימן Benjamin, H4409 מלוך Malluch, H8114 שׁמריה׃ Shemariah.
  33 H1121 מבני   H2828 חשׁם of Hashum; H4982 מתני Mattenai, H4992 מתתה Mattathah, H2066 זבד Zabad, H467 אליפלט Eliphelet, H3413 ירמי Jeremai, H4519 מנשׁה Manasseh, H8096 שׁמעי׃ Shimei.
