4 H7786 וישׂר H413 אל over H4397 מלאך the angel, H3201 ויכל and prevailed: H1058 בכה he wept, H2603 ויתחנן and made supplication H1008 לו בית אל him Bethel, H4672 ימצאנו unto him: he found H8033 ושׁם and there H1696 ידבר he spoke H5973 עמנו׃ with

5 H3068 ויהוה Even the LORD H430 אלהי God H6635 הצבאות of hosts; H3068 יהוה the LORD H2143 זכרו׃ his memorial.

6 H859 ואתה thou H430 באלהיך to thy God: H7725 תשׁוב Therefore turn H2617 חסד mercy H4941 ומשׁפט and judgment, H8104 שׁמר keep H6960 וקוה and wait H413 אל on H430 אלהיך thy God H8548 תמיד׃ continually.

7 H3667 כנען a merchant, H3027 בידו in his hand: H3976 מאזני the balances H4820 מרמה of deceit H6231 לעשׁק to oppress. H157 אהב׃ he loveth

8 H559 ויאמר said, H669 אפרים And Ephraim H389 אך Yet H6238 עשׁרתי I am become rich, H4672 מצאתי I have found me out H202 און substance: H3605 לי כל all H3018 יגיעי my labors H3808 לא none H4672 ימצאו they shall find H5771 לי עון iniquity H834 אשׁר in me that H2399 חטא׃ sin.

9 H595 ואנכי And I H3068 יהוה the LORD H430 אלהיך thy God H776 מארץ from the land H4714 מצרים of Egypt H5750 עד will yet H3427 אושׁיבך make thee to dwell H168 באהלים in tabernacles, H3117 כימי as in the days H4150 מועד׃ of the solemn feast.

10 H1696 ודברתי I have also spoken H5921 על by H5030 הנביאים the prophets, H595 ואנכי and I H2377 חזון visions, H7235 הרביתי have multiplied H3027 וביד by the ministry H5030 הנביאים of the prophets. H1819 אדמה׃ and used similitudes,

11 H518 אם H1568 גלעד Gilead? H205 און iniquity H389 אך surely H7723 שׁוא vanity: H1961 היו they are H1537 בגלגל in Gilgal; H7794 שׁורים bullocks H2076 זבחו they sacrifice H1571 גם yea, H4196 מזבחותם their altars H1530 כגלים as heaps H5921 על in H8525 תלמי the furrows H7704 שׂדי׃ of the fields.

12 H1272 ויברח fled H3290 יעקב And Jacob H7704 שׂדה into the country H758 ארם of Syria, H5647 ויעבד served H3478 ישׂראל and Israel H802 באשׁה for a wife, H802 ובאשׁה and for a wife H8104 שׁמר׃ he kept

13 H5030 ובנביא And by a prophet H5927 העלה brought H3068 יהוה the LORD H853 את H3478 ישׂראל Israel H4714 ממצרים H5030 ובנביא and by a prophet H8104 נשׁמר׃ was he preserved.

14 H3707 הכעיס provoked to anger H669 אפרים Ephraim H8563 תמרורים most bitterly: H1818 ודמיו his blood H5921 עליו upon H5203 יטושׁ therefore shall he leave H2781 וחרפתו him, and his reproach H7725 ישׁיב return H136 לו אדניו׃
