Jeremiah 17 חטאת The sin יהודה of Judah כתובה written בעט with a pen ברזל of iron, בצפרן with the point שׁמיר of a diamond: חרושׁה graven על upon לוח the table לבם of their heart, ולקרנות and upon the horns מזבחותיכם׃ of your altars;

2 H2142 כזכר remember H1121 בניהם Whilst their children H4196 מזבחותם their altars H842 ואשׁריהם and their groves H5921 על by H6086 עץ trees H7488 רענן the green H5921 על upon H1389 גבעות hills. H1364 הגבהות׃ the high

3 H2042 הררי O my mountain H7704 בשׂדה in the field, H2428 חילך thy substance H3605 כל all H214 אוצרותיך thy treasures H957 לבז to the spoil, H5414 אתן I will give H1116 במתיך thy high places H2403 בחטאת for sin, H3605 בכל throughout all H1366 גבוליך׃ thy borders.

4 H8058 ושׁמטתה And thou, even thyself, shalt discontinue H5159 ובך מנחלתך from thine heritage H834 אשׁר that H5414 נתתי I gave H5647 לך והעבדתיך thee; and I will cause thee to serve H853 את H341 איביך thine enemies H776 בארץ in the land H834 אשׁר which H3808 לא not: H3045 ידעת thou knowest H3588 כי for H784 אשׁ a fire H6919 קדחתם ye have kindled H639 באפי in mine anger, H5704 עד forever. H5769 עולם forever. H3344 תוקד׃ shall burn

5 H3541 כה Thus H559 אמר saith H3068 יהוה the LORD; H779 ארור Cursed H1397 הגבר the man H834 אשׁר that H982 יבטח trusteth H120 באדם in man, H7760 ושׂם and maketh H1320 בשׂר flesh H2220 זרעו his arm, H4480 ומן from H3068 יהוה the LORD. H5493 יסור departeth H3820 לבו׃ and whose heart

6 H1961 והיה For he shall be H6176 כערער like the heath H6160 בערבה in the desert, H3808 ולא and shall not H7200 יראה see H3588 כי when H935 יבוא cometh; H2896 טוב good H7931 ושׁכן but shall inhabit H2788 חררים the parched places H4057 במדבר in the wilderness, H776 ארץ land H4420 מלחה a salt H3808 ולא and not H3427 תשׁב׃ inhabited.

7 H1288 ברוך Blessed H1397 הגבר the man H834 אשׁר that H982 יבטח trusteth H3068 ביהוה in the LORD, H1961 והיה is. H3068 יהוה the LORD H4009 מבטחו׃ and whose hope

8 H1961 והיה For he shall be H6086 כעץ as a tree H8362 שׁתול planted H5921 על by H4325 מים the waters, H5921 ועל by H3105 יובל the river, H7971 ישׁלח and spreadeth out H8328 שׁרשׁיו her roots H3808 ולא and shall not H3372 ירא H3588 כי when H935 יבא cometh, H2527 חם heat H1961 והיה shall be H5929 עלהו but her leaf H7488 רענן green; H8141 ובשׁנת in the year H1226 בצרת of drought, H3808 לא and shall not H1672 ידאג be careful H3808 ולא neither H4185 ימישׁ shall cease H6213 מעשׂות from yielding H6529 פרי׃ fruit.

9 H6121 עקב deceitful H3820 הלב The heart H3605 מכל above all H605 ואנשׁ and desperately wicked: H1931 הוא H4310 מי who H3045 ידענו׃ can know

10 H589 אני I H3068 יהוה the LORD H2713 חקר search H3820 לב the heart, H974 בחן try H3629 כליות the reins, H5414 ולתת even to give H376 לאישׁ every man H1870 כדרכו according to his ways, H6529 כפרי according to the fruit H4611 מעלליו׃ of his doings.

11 H7124 קרא the partridge H1716 דגר sitteth H3808 ולא not; H3205 ילד and hatcheth H6213 עשׂה he that getteth H6239 עשׁר riches, H3808 ולא and not H4941 במשׁפט by right, H2677 בחצי them in the midst H3117 ימו of his days, H5800 יעזבנו shall leave H319 ובאחריתו and at his end H1961 יהיה shall be H5036 נבל׃ a fool.

12 H3678 כסא throne H3519 כבוד A glorious H4791 מרום high H7223 מראשׁון from the beginning H4725 מקום the place H4720 מקדשׁנו׃ of our sanctuary.

13 H4723 מקוה the hope H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H3068 יהוה O LORD, H3605 כל all H5800 עזביך that forsake H954 יבשׁו thee shall be ashamed, H3249 יסורי they that depart from H776 בארץ in the earth, H3789 יכתבו me shall be written H3588 כי because H5800 עזבו they have forsaken H4726 מקור the fountain H4325 מים waters. H2416 חיים of living H853 את H3068 יהוה׃ the LORD,

14 H7495 רפאני Heal H3068 יהוה me, O LORD, H7495 וארפא and I shall be healed; H3467 הושׁיעני save H3467 ואושׁעה me, and I shall be saved: H3588 כי for H8416 תהלתי my praise. H859 אתה׃ thou

15 H2009 הנה Behold, H1992 המה they H559 אמרים say H413 אלי unto H346 איה me, Where H1697 דבר the word H3068 יהוה of the LORD? H935 יבוא let it come H4994 נא׃ now.

16 H589 ואני As for me, I H3808 לא have not H213 אצתי hastened H7462 מרעה from a pastor H310 אחריך to follow H3117 ויום day; H605 אנושׁ the woeful H3808 לא thee: neither H183 התאויתי have I desired H859 אתה thou H3045 ידעת knowest: H4161 מוצא that which came H8193 שׂפתי my lips H5227 נכח before H6440 פניך out of H1961 היה׃ was

17 H408 אל not H1961 תהיה Be H4288 לי למחתה a terror H4268 מחסי my hope H859 אתה unto me: thou H3117 ביום in the day H7451 רעה׃ of evil.

18 H954 יבשׁו Let them be confounded H7291 רדפי that persecute H408 ואל me, but let not H954 אבשׁה be confounded: H589 אני me H2865 יחתו be dismayed, H1992 המה let them H408 ואל but let not H2865 אחתה be dismayed: H589 אני me H935 הביא bring H5921 עליהם upon H3117 יום them the day H7451 רעה of evil, H4932 ומשׁנה them with double H7670 שׁברון destruction. H7665 שׁברם׃ and destroy

19 H3541 כה Thus H559 אמר said H3068 יהוה the LORD H413 אלי unto H1980 הלך me; Go H5975 ועמדת and stand H8179 בשׁער in the gate H1121 בני of the children H5971 עם of the people, H834 אשׁר whereby H935 יבאו come in, H4428 בו מלכי the kings H3063 יהודה of Judah H834 ואשׁר and by the which H3318 יצאו they go out, H3605 בו ובכל and in all H8179 שׁערי the gates H3389 ירושׁלם׃ of Jerusalem;

20 H559 ואמרת And say H413 אליהם unto H8085 שׁמעו them, Hear H1697 דבר ye the word H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H4428 מלכי ye kings H3063 יהודה of Judah, H3605 וכל and all H3063 יהודה Judah, H3605 וכל and all H3427 ישׁבי the inhabitants H3389 ירושׁלם of Jerusalem, H935 הבאים that enter in H8179 בשׁערים gates: H428 האלה׃ by these

21 H3541 כה Thus H559 אמר saith H3068 יהוה the LORD; H8104 השׁמרו Take heed H5315 בנפשׁותיכם to yourselves, H408 ואל no H5375 תשׂאו and bear H4853 משׂא burden H3117 ביום day, H7676 השׁבת on the sabbath H935 והבאתם nor bring in H8179 בשׁערי by the gates H3389 ירושׁלם׃ of Jerusalem;

22 H3808 ולא Neither H3318 תוציאו carry forth H4853 משׂא a burden H1004 מבתיכם out of your houses H3117 ביום day, H7676 השׁבת on the sabbath H3605 וכל ye any H4399 מלאכה work, H3808 לא neither H6213 תעשׂו do H6942 וקדשׁתם but hallow H853 את H3117 יום day, H7676 השׁבת ye the sabbath H834 כאשׁר as H6680 צויתי I commanded H853 את H1 אבותיכם׃ your fathers.

23 H3808 ולא not, H8085 שׁמעו But they obeyed H3808 ולא neither H5186 הטו inclined H853 את H241 אזנם their ear, H7185 ויקשׁו stiff, H853 את H6203 ערפם but made their neck H1115 לבלתי that they might not H8085 שׁומע hear, H1115 ולבלתי nor H3947 קחת receive H4148 מוסר׃ instruction.

24 H1961 והיה And it shall come to pass, H518 אם if H8085 שׁמע ye diligently hearken H8085 תשׁמעון ye diligently hearken H413 אלי unto H5002 נאם me, saith H3068 יהוה the LORD, H1115 לבלתי no H935 הביא to bring in H4853 משׂא burden H8179 בשׁערי through the gates H5892 העיר city H2063 הזאת of this H3117 ביום day, H7676 השׁבת on the sabbath H6942 ולקדשׁ but hallow H853 את H3117 יום day, H7676 השׁבת the sabbath H1115 לבלתי no H6213 עשׂות to do H3605 בה כל no H4399 מלאכה׃ work

25 H935 ובאו Then shall there enter H8179 בשׁערי into the gates H5892 העיר city H2063 הזאת of this H4428 מלכים kings H8269 ושׂרים and princes H3427 ישׁבים sitting H5921 על upon H3678 כסא the throne H1732 דוד of David, H7392 רכבים riding H7393 ברכב in chariots H5483 ובסוסים and on horses, H1992 המה they, H8269 ושׂריהם and their princes, H376 אישׁ the men H3063 יהודה of Judah, H3427 וישׁבי and the inhabitants H3389 ירושׁלם of Jerusalem: H3427 וישׁבה shall remain H5892 העיר city H2063 הזאת and this H5769 לעולם׃ forever.

26 H935 ובאו And they shall come H5892 מערי from the cities H3063 יהודה of Judah, H5439 ומסביבות and from the places about H3389 ירושׁלם Jerusalem, H776 ומארץ and from the land H1144 בנימן of Benjamin, H4480 ומן from the cities H8219 השׁפלה the plain, H4480 ומן and from the places about H2022 ההר the mountains, H4480 ומן and from the land H5045 הנגב the south, H935 מבאים bringing H5930 עולה burnt offerings, H2077 וזבח and sacrifices, H4503 ומנחה and meat offerings, H3828 ולבונה and incense, H935 ומבאי and bringing H8426 תודה sacrifices of praise, H1004 בית unto the house H3068 יהוה׃ of the LORD.

27 H518 ואם But if H3808 לא ye will not H8085 תשׁמעו hearken H413 אלי unto H6942 לקדשׁ me to hallow H853 את H3117 יום day, H7676 השׁבת the sabbath H1115 ולבלתי and not H5375 שׂאת to bear H4853 משׂא a burden, H935 ובא even entering H8179 בשׁערי in at the gates H3389 ירושׁלם of Jerusalem H3117 ביום day; H7676 השׁבת on the sabbath H3341 והצתי then will I kindle H784 אשׁ a fire H8179 בשׁעריה in the gates H398 ואכלה thereof, and it shall devour H759 ארמנות the palaces H3389 ירושׁלם of Jerusalem, H3808 ולא and it shall not H3518 תכבה׃ be quenched.
