  1 H2438 And Hiram H4428 king H6865 of Tyre H7971 sent [H8799]   H5650 his servants H8010 unto Solomon H8085 ; for he had heard [H8804]   H4886 that they had anointed [H8804]   H4428 him king H1 in the room of his father H2438 : for Hiram H3117 was ever H157 a lover [H8802]   H1732 of David.
  2 H8010 And Solomon H7971 sent [H8799]   H2438 to Hiram H559 , saying [H8800]  ,
  3 H3045 Thou knowest [H8804]   H1732 how that David H1 my father H3201 could [H8804]   H1129 not build [H8800]   H1004 an house H8034 unto the name H3068 of the LORD H430 his God H6440 for H4421 the wars H5437 which were about him on every side [H8804]   H3068 , until the LORD H5414 put [H8800]   H3709 them under the soles H7272 of his feet.
  4 H3068 But now the LORD H430 my God H5117 hath given me rest [H8689]   H5439 on every side H7854 , so that there is neither adversary H7451 nor evil H6294 occurrent.
  5 H559 And, behold, I purpose [H8802]   H1129 to build [H8800]   H1004 an house H8034 unto the name H3068 of the LORD H430 my God H3068 , as the LORD H1696 spake [H8765]   H1732 unto David H1 my father H559 , saying [H8800]   H1121 , Thy son H5414 , whom I will set [H8799]   H3678 upon thy throne H1129 in thy room, he shall build [H8799]   H1004 an house H8034 unto my name.
  6 H6680 Now therefore command [H8761]   H3772 thou that they hew [H8799]   H730 me cedar trees H3844 out of Lebanon H5650 ; and my servants H5650 shall be with thy servants H5414 : and unto thee will I give [H8799]   H7939 hire H5650 for thy servants H559 according to all that thou shalt appoint [H8799]   H3045 : for thou knowest [H8804]   H376 that there is not among us any H3045 that can skill [H8802]   H3772 to hew [H8800]   H6086 timber H6722 like unto the Sidonians.
  7 H2438 And it came to pass, when Hiram H8085 heard [H8800]   H1697 the words H8010 of Solomon H8055 , that he rejoiced [H8799]   H3966 greatly H559 , and said [H8799]   H1288 , Blessed [H8803]   H3068 be the LORD H3117 this day H5414 , which hath given [H8804]   H1732 unto David H2450 a wise H1121 son H7227 over this great H5971 people.
  8 H2438 And Hiram H7971 sent [H8799]   H8010 to Solomon H559 , saying [H8800]   H8085 , I have considered [H8804]   H7971 the things which thou sentest [H8804]   H6213 to me for: and I will do [H8799]   H2656 all thy desire H6086 concerning timber H730 of cedar H6086 , and concerning timber H1265 of fir.
  9 H5650 My servants H3381 shall bring them down [H8686]   H3844 from Lebanon H3220 unto the sea H7760 : and I will convey [H8799]   H3220 them by sea H1702 in floats H4725 unto the place H7971 that thou shalt appoint [H8799]   H5310 me, and will cause them to be discharged [H8765]   H5375 there, and thou shalt receive [H8799]   H6213 them : and thou shalt accomplish [H8799]   H2656 my desire H5414 , in giving [H8800]   H3899 food H1004 for my household.
  10 H2438 So Hiram H5414 gave [H8802]   H8010 Solomon H730 cedar H6086 trees H1265 and fir H6086 trees H2656 according to all his desire.
  11 H8010 And Solomon H5414 gave [H8804]   H2438 Hiram H6242 twenty H505 thousand H3734 measures H2406 of wheat H4361 for food H1004 to his household H6242 , and twenty H3734 measures H3795 of pure H8081 oil H5414 : thus gave [H8799]   H8010 Solomon H2438 to Hiram H8141 year H8141 by year.
  12 H3068 And the LORD H5414 gave [H8804]   H8010 Solomon H2451 wisdom H1696 , as he promised [H8765]   H7965 him: and there was peace H2438 between Hiram H8010 and Solomon H8147 ; and they two H3772 made [H8799]   H1285 a league H8147 together.
  13 H4428 And king H8010 Solomon H5927 raised [H8686]   H4522 a levy H3478 out of all Israel H4522 ; and the levy H7970 was thirty H505 thousand H376 men.
  14 H7971 And he sent [H8799]   H3844 them to Lebanon H6235 , ten H505 thousand H2320 a month H2487 by courses H2320 : a month H3844 they were in Lebanon H8147 , and two H2320 months H1004 at home H141 : and Adoniram H4522 was over the levy.
  15 H8010 And Solomon H7657 had threescore and ten H505 thousand H5375 that bare [H8802]   H5449 burdens H8084 , and fourscore H505 thousand H2672 hewers [H8802]   H2022 in the mountains;
  16 H8269 Beside the chief H8010 of Solomon's H5324 officers [H8737]   H4399 which were over the work H7969 , three H505 thousand H7969 and three H3967 hundred H7287 , which ruled [H8802]   H5971 over the people H6213 that wrought [H8802]   H4399 in the work.
  17 H4428 And the king H6680 commanded [H8762]   H5265 , and they brought [H8686]   H1419 great H68 stones H3368 , costly H68 stones H1496 , and hewed H68 stones H3245 , to lay the foundation [H8763]   H1004 of the house.
  18 H8010 And Solomon's H1129 builders [H8802]   H2438 and Hiram's H1129 builders [H8802]   H6458 did hew [H8799]   H1382 them, and the stonesquarers H3559 : so they prepared [H8686]   H6086 timber H68 and stones H1129 to build [H8800]   H1004 the house.

  3 H859 אתה Thou H3045 ידעת knowest H853 את   H1732 דוד David H1 אבי my father H3588 כי how that H3808 לא not H3201 יכל could H1129 לבנות build H1004 בית a house H8034 לשׁם unto the name H3068 יהוה of the LORD H430 אלהיו his God H6440 מפני for H4421 המלחמה the wars H834 אשׁר which H5437 סבבהו were about him on every side, H5704 עד until H5414 תת put H3068 יהוה the LORD H853 אתם   H8478 תחת them under H3709 כפות the soles H7272 רגלו׃ of his feet.
  4 H6258 ועתה But now H5117 הניח hath given me rest H3068 יהוה the LORD H430 אלהי my God H5439 לי מסביב on every side, H369 אין neither H7854 שׂטן adversary H369 ואין nor H6294 פגע occurrent. H7451 רע׃ evil
  5 H2005 והנני   H559 אמר I purpose H1129 לבנות to build H1004 בית a house H8034 לשׁם unto the name H3068 יהוה of the LORD H430 אלהי my God, H834 כאשׁר as H1696 דבר spoke H3068 יהוה the LORD H413 אל unto H1732 דוד David H1 אבי my father, H559 לאמר saying, H1121 בנך Thy son, H834 אשׁר whom H5414 אתן I will set H8478 תחתיך in thy room, H5921 על upon H3678 כסאך thy throne H1931 הוא he H1129 יבנה shall build H1004 הבית a house H8034 לשׁמי׃ unto my name.
  6 H6258 ועתה Now H6680 צוה therefore command H3772 ויכרתו thou that they hew H730 לי ארזים me cedar trees H4480 מן out of H3844 הלבנון Lebanon; H5650 ועבדי and my servants H1961 יהיו shall be H5973 עם with H5650 עבדיך thy servants: H7939 ושׂכר hire H5650 עבדיך for thy servants H5414 אתן and unto thee will I give H3605 לך ככל according to all H834 אשׁר that H559 תאמר thou shalt appoint: H3588 כי for H859 אתה thou H3045 ידעת knowest H3588 כי that H369 אין not H376 בנו אישׁ among us any H3045 ידע that can skill H3772 לכרת to hew H6086 עצים timber H6722 כצדנים׃ like unto the Sidonians.
  7 H1961 ויהי And it came to pass, H8085 כשׁמע heard H2438 חירם when Hiram H853 את   H1697 דברי the words H8010 שׁלמה of Solomon, H8055 וישׂמח that he rejoiced H3966 מאד greatly, H559 ויאמר and said, H1288 ברוך Blessed H3068 יהוה the LORD H3117 היום this day, H834 אשׁר which H5414 נתן hath given H1732 לדוד unto David H1121 בן son H2450 חכם a wise H5921 על over H5971 העם people. H7227 הרב great H2088 הזה׃ this
  8 H7971 וישׁלח sent H2438 חירם And Hiram H413 אל to H8010 שׁלמה Solomon, H559 לאמר saying, H8085 שׁמעתי I have considered H853 את   H834 אשׁר the things which H7971 שׁלחת thou sentest H413 אלי to H589 אני me for: I H6213 אעשׂה will do H853 את   H3605 כל all H2656 חפצך thy desire H6086 בעצי concerning timber H730 ארזים of cedar, H6086 ובעצי and concerning timber H1265 ברושׁים׃ of fir.
  9 H5650 עבדי My servants H3381 ירדו shall bring down H4480 מן from H3844 הלבנון Lebanon H3220 ימה unto the sea: H589 ואני and I H7760 אשׂימם will convey H1702 דברות in floats H3220 בים them by sea H5704 עד unto H4725 המקום the place H834 אשׁר that H7971 תשׁלח thou shalt appoint H413 אלי thou shalt appoint H5310 ונפצתים me, and will cause them to be discharged H8033 שׁם there, H859 ואתה and thou H5375 תשׂא shalt receive H859 ואתה and thou H6213 תעשׂה shalt accomplish H853 את   H2656 חפצי my desire, H5414 לתת in giving H3899 לחם food H1004 ביתי׃ for my household.
  10 H1961 ויהי   H2438 חירום So Hiram H5414 נתן gave H8010 לשׁלמה Solomon H6086 עצי trees H730 ארזים cedar H6086 ועצי trees H1265 ברושׁים and fir H3605 כל all H2656 חפצו׃ his desire.
  11 H8010 ושׁלמה And Solomon H5414 נתן gave H2438 לחירם Hiram H6242 עשׂרים twenty H505 אלף thousand H3734 כר measures H2406 חטים of wheat H4361 מכלת food H1004 לביתו to his household, H6242 ועשׂרים and twenty H3734 כר measures H8081 שׁמן oil: H3795 כתית of pure H3541 כה thus H5414 יתן gave H8010 שׁלמה Solomon H2438 לחירם to Hiram H8141 שׁנה year H8141 בשׁנה׃ by year.
  12 H3068 ויהוה And the LORD H5414 נתן gave H2451 חכמה wisdom, H8010 לשׁלמה Solomon H834 כאשׁר as H1696 דבר he promised H1961 לו ויהי him: and there was H7965 שׁלם peace H996 בין between H2438 חירם Hiram H996 ובין   H8010 שׁלמה and Solomon; H3772 ויכרתו made a league together. H1285 ברית made a league together. H8147 שׁניהם׃ and they two
  13 H5927 ויעל raised H4428 המלך And king H8010 שׁלמה Solomon H4522 מס a levy H3605 מכל out of all H3478 ישׂראל Israel; H1961 ויהי was H4522 המס and the levy H7970 שׁלשׁים thirty H505 אלף thousand H376 אישׁ׃ men.
  14 H7971 וישׁלחם And he sent H3844 לבנונה them to Lebanon, H6235 עשׂרת ten H505 אלפים thousand H2320 בחדשׁ a month H2487 חליפות by courses: H2320 חדשׁ a month H1961 יהיו they were H3844 בלבנון in Lebanon, H8147 שׁנים two H2320 חדשׁים months H1004 בביתו at home: H141 ואדנירם and Adoniram H5921 על over H4522 המס׃ the levy.
  15 H1961 ויהי had H8010 לשׁלמה And Solomon H7657 שׁבעים threescore and ten H505 אלף thousand H5375 נשׂא that bore H5449 סבל burdens, H8084 ושׁמנים and fourscore H505 אלף thousand H2672 חצב hewers H2022 בהר׃ in the mountains;
  16 H905 לבד   H8269 משׂרי   H5324 הנצבים officers H8010 לשׁלמה of Solomon's H834 אשׁר which H5921 על over H4399 המלאכה the work, H7969 שׁלשׁת three H505 אלפים thousand H7969 ושׁלשׁ and three H3967 מאות hundred, H7287 הרדים which ruled H5971 בעם over the people H6213 העשׂים that wrought H4399 במלאכה׃ in the work.
  17 H6680 ויצו commanded, H4428 המלך And the king H5265 ויסעו and they brought H68 אבנים stones, H1419 גדלות great H68 אבנים stones, H3368 יקרות costly H3245 ליסד to lay the foundation H1004 הבית of the house. H68 אבני stones, H1496 גזית׃ hewed
  18 H6458 ויפסלו did hew H1129 בני builders H8010 שׁלמה And Solomon's H1129 ובני builders H2438 חירום and Hiram's H1382 והגבלים and the stonesquarers: H3559 ויכינו so they prepared H6086 העצים timber H68 והאבנים and stones H1129 לבנות to build H1004 הבית׃ the house.
