2 Chronicles 22 And the inhabitants of Jerusalem made Ahaziah his youngest son king in his stead: for the band of men that came with the Arabians to the camp had slain all the eldest . So Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah reigned .

2 H705 Forty H8147 and two H8141 years H1121 old H274 was Ahaziah H4427 when he began to reign [H8800] H4427 , and he reigned [H8804] H259 one H8141 year H3389 in Jerusalem H517 . His mother's H8034 name H6271 also was Athaliah H1323 the daughter H6018 of Omri.

3 H1980 He also walked [H8804] H1870 in the ways H1004 of the house H256 of Ahab H517 : for his mother H3289 was his counsellor [H8802] H7561 to do wickedly [H8687] .

4 H6213 Wherefore he did [H8799] H7451 evil H5869 in the sight H3068 of the LORD H1004 like the house H256 of Ahab H3289 : for they were his counsellors [H8802] H310 after H4194 the death H1 of his father H4889 to his destruction.

And Azariah H1121 the son H3088 of Jehoram H4428 king H3063 of Judah H3381 went down [H8804] H7200 to see [H8800] H3088 Jehoram H1121 the son H256 of Ahab H3157 at Jezreel H2470 , because he was sick [H8802] .

7 H8395 And the destruction H274 of Ahaziah H430 was of God H935 by coming [H8800] H3141 to Joram H935 : for when he was come [H8800] H3318 , he went out [H8804] H3088 with Jehoram H3058 against Jehu H1121 the son H5250 of Nimshi H3068 , whom the LORD H4886 had anointed [H8804] H3772 to cut off [H8687] H1004 the house H256 of Ahab.

8 H3058 And it came to pass, that, when Jehu H8199 was executing judgment [H8736] H1004 upon the house H256 of Ahab H4672 , and found [H8799] H8269 the princes H3063 of Judah H1121 , and the sons H251 of the brethren H274 of Ahaziah H8334 , that ministered [H8764] H274 to Ahaziah H2026 , he slew [H8799] them.

9 H1245 And he sought [H8762] H274 Ahaziah H3920 : and they caught [H8799] H2244 him, (for he was hid [H8693] H8111 in Samaria H935 ,) and brought [H8686] H3058 him to Jehu H4191 : and when they had slain [H8686] H6912 him, they buried [H8799] H559 him: Because, said [H8804] H1121 they, he is the son H3092 of Jehoshaphat H1875 , who sought [H8804] H3068 the LORD H3824 with all his heart H1004 . So the house H274 of Ahaziah H3581 had no power H6113 to keep [H8800] H4467 still the kingdom.

10 H6271 But when Athaliah H517 the mother H274 of Ahaziah H7200 saw [H8804] H1121 that her son H4191 was dead [H8804] H6965 , she arose [H8799] H1696 and destroyed [H8762] H2233 all the seed H4467 royal H1004 of the house H3063 of Judah.

11 H3090 But Jehoshabeath H1323 , the daughter H4428 of the king H3947 , took [H8799] H3101 Joash H1121 the son H274 of Ahaziah H1589 , and stole [H8799] H8432 him from among H4428 the king's H1121 sons H4191 that were slain [H8716] H5414 , and put [H8799] H3243 him and his nurse [H8688] H2315 in a bedchamber H4296 H3090 . So Jehoshabeath H1323 , the daughter H4428 of king H3088 Jehoram H802 , the wife H3077 of Jehoiada H3548 the priest H269 , (for she was the sister H274 of Ahaziah H5641 ,) hid [H8686] H6440 him from H6271 Athaliah H4191 , so that she slew [H8689] him not.

12 H2244 And he was with them hid [H8693] H1004 in the house H430 of God H8337 six H8141 years H6271 : and Athaliah H4427 reigned [H8802] H776 over the land.
