Ezekiel 31 And it came to pass in the eleventh year , in the third month, in the first day of the month , that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying ,

2 H1121 Son H120 of man H559 , speak [H8798] H6547 unto Pharaoh H4428 king H4714 of Egypt H1995 , and to his multitude H1819 ; Whom art thou like [H8804] H1433 in thy greatness?

3 H804 Behold, the Assyrian H730 was a cedar H3844 in Lebanon H3303 with fair H6057 branches H6751 , and with a shadowing [H8688] H2793 shroud H1362 , and of an high H6967 stature H6788 ; and his top H5688 was among the thick boughs.

4 H4325 The waters H1431 made him great [H8765] H8415 , the deep H7311 set him up on high [H8790] H5104 with her rivers H1980 running [H8802] H5439 round about H4302 his plants H7971 , and sent out [H8765] H8585 her little rivers H6086 unto all the trees H7704 of the field.

5 H6967 Therefore his height H1361 was exalted [H8804] H6086 above all the trees H7704 of the field H5634 , and his boughs H7235 were multiplied [H8799] H6288 , and his branches H748 became long [H8799] H7227 because of the multitude H4325 of waters H7971 , when he shot forth [H8763] .

6 H5775 All the fowls H8064 of heaven H7077 made their nests [H8765] H5589 in his boughs H6288 , and under his branches H2416 did all the beasts H7704 of the field H3205 bring forth their young [H8804] H6738 , and under his shadow H3427 dwelt [H8799] H7227 all great H1471 nations.

7 H3302 Thus was he fair [H8799] H1433 in his greatness H753 , in the length H1808 of his branches H8328 : for his root H7227 was by great H4325 waters.

8 H730 The cedars H1588 in the garden H430 of God H6004 could not hide [H8804] H1265 him: the fir trees H1819 were not like [H8804] H5589 his boughs H6196 , and the chesnut trees H6288 were not like his branches H6086 ; nor any tree H1588 in the garden H430 of God H1819 was like [H8804] H3308 unto him in his beauty.

9 H6213 I have made [H8804] H3303 him fair H7230 by the multitude H1808 of his branches H6086 : so that all the trees H5731 of Eden H1588 , that were in the garden H430 of God H7065 , envied [H8762] him.

10 H559 Therefore thus saith [H8804] H136 the Lord H3069 GOD H1361 ; Because thou hast lifted up [H8804] H6967 thyself in height H5414 , and he hath shot up [H8799] H6788 his top H5688 among the thick boughs H3824 , and his heart H7311 is lifted up [H8804] H1363 in his height;

12 H2114 And strangers [H8801] H6184 , the terrible H1471 of the nations H3772 , have cut him off [H8799] H5203 , and have left [H8799] H2022 him: upon the mountains H1516 and in all the valleys H1808 his branches H5307 are fallen [H8804] H6288 , and his boughs H7665 are broken [H8735] H650 by all the rivers H776 of the land H5971 ; and all the people H776 of the earth H3381 are gone down [H8799] H6738 from his shadow H5203 , and have left [H8799] him.

13 H4658 Upon his ruin H5775 shall all the fowls H8064 of the heaven H7931 remain [H8799] H2416 , and all the beasts H7704 of the field H6288 shall be upon his branches:

14 H6086 To the end that none of all the trees H4325 by the waters H1361 exalt [H8799] H6967 themselves for their height H5414 , neither shoot up [H8799] H6788 their top H5688 among the thick boughs H352 , neither their trees H5975 stand up [H8799] H1363 in their height H8354 , all that drink [H8802] H4325 water H5414 : for they are all delivered [H8738] H4194 unto death H8482 , to the nether parts H776 of the earth H8432 , in the midst H1121 of the children H120 of men H3381 , with them that go down [H8802] H953 to the pit.

15 H559 Thus saith [H8804] H136 the Lord H3069 GOD H3117 ; In the day H3381 when he went down [H8800] H7585 to the grave H56 I caused a mourning [H8689] H3680 : I covered [H8765] H8415 the deep H4513 for him, and I restrained [H8799] H5104 the floods H7227 thereof, and the great H4325 waters H3607 were stayed [H8735] H3844 : and I caused Lebanon H6937 to mourn [H8686] H6086 for him, and all the trees H7704 of the field H5969 fainted for him.

16 H1471 I made the nations H7493 to shake [H8689] H6963 at the sound H4658 of his fall H3381 , when I cast him down [H8687] H7585 to hell H3381 with them that descend [H8802] H953 into the pit H6086 : and all the trees H5731 of Eden H4005 , the choice H2896 and best H3844 of Lebanon H8354 , all that drink [H8802] H4325 water H5162 , shall be comforted [H8735] H8482 in the nether parts H776 of the earth.

17 H3381 They also went down [H8804] H7585 into hell H2491 with him unto them that be slain H2719 with the sword H2220 ; and they that were his arm H3427 , that dwelt [H8804] H6738 under his shadow H8432 in the midst H1471 of the heathen.

18 H1819 To whom art thou thus like [H8804] H3519 in glory H1433 and in greatness H6086 among the trees H5731 of Eden H3381 ? yet shalt thou be brought down [H8717] H6086 with the trees H5731 of Eden H8482 unto the nether parts H776 of the earth H7901 : thou shalt lie [H8799] H8432 in the midst H6189 of the uncircumcised H2491 with them that be slain H2719 by the sword H6547 . This is Pharaoh H1995 and all his multitude H5002 , saith [H8803] H136 the Lord H3069 GOD.
