Jeremiah 3 They say , If a man put away his wife , and she go from him, and become another man's , shall he return unto her again ? shall not that land be greatly polluted ? but thou hast played the harlot with many lovers ; yet return again to me, saith the LORD.

4 H7121 Wilt thou not from this time cry [H8804] H1 unto me, My father H441 , thou art the guide H5271 of my youth?

5 H5201 Will he reserve [H8799] H5769 his anger for ever H8104 ? will he keep [H8799] H5331 it to the end H1696 ? Behold, thou hast spoken [H8765] H6213 and done [H8799] H7451 evil things H3201 as thou couldest [H8799] .

6 H3068 The LORD H559 said [H8799] H3117 also unto me in the days H2977 of Josiah H4428 the king H7200 , Hast thou seen [H8804] H4878 that which backsliding H3478 Israel H6213 hath done [H8804] H1980 ? she is gone up [H8802] H1364 upon every high H2022 mountain H8478 and under H7488 every green H6086 tree H2181 , and there hath played the harlot [H8799] .

7 H559 And I said [H8799] H310 after H6213 she had done [H8800] H7725 all these things, Turn [H8799] H7725 thou unto me. But she returned [H8804] H901 not. And her treacherous H269 sister H3063 Judah H7200 saw [H8799] it .

8 H7200 And I saw [H8799] H182 , when for all the causes H4878 whereby backsliding H3478 Israel H5003 committed adultery [H8765] H7971 I had put her away [H8765] H5414 , and given [H8799] H5612 her a bill H3748 of divorce H898 ; yet her treacherous [H8802] H269 sister H3063 Judah H3372 feared [H8804] H3212 not, but went [H8799] H2181 and played the harlot [H8799] also.

9 H6963 And it came to pass through the lightness H2184 of her whoredom H2610 , that she defiled [H8799] H776 the land H5003 , and committed adultery [H8799] H68 with stones H6086 and with stocks.

10 H901 And yet for all this her treacherous H269 sister H3063 Judah H7725 hath not turned [H8804] H3820 unto me with her whole heart H8267 , but feignedly H5002 , saith [H8803] H3068 the LORD.

11 H3068 And the LORD H559 said [H8799] H4878 unto me, The backsliding H3478 Israel H6663 hath justified [H8765] H5315 herself H898 more than treacherous [H8802] H3063 Judah.

12 H1980 Go [H8800] H7121 and proclaim [H8804] H1697 these words H6828 toward the north H559 , and say [H8804] H7725 , Return [H8798] H4878 , thou backsliding H3478 Israel H5002 , saith [H8803] H3068 the LORD H6440 ; and I will not cause mine anger H5307 to fall [H8686] H2623 upon you: for I am merciful H5002 , saith [H8803] H3068 the LORD H5201 , and I will not keep [H8799] H5769 anger for ever.

13 H3045 Only acknowledge [H8798] H5771 thine iniquity H6586 , that thou hast transgressed [H8804] H3068 against the LORD H430 thy God H6340 , and hast scattered [H8762] H1870 thy ways H2114 to the strangers [H8801] H7488 under every green H6086 tree H8085 , and ye have not obeyed [H8804] H6963 my voice H5002 , saith [H8803] H3068 the LORD.

14 H7725 Turn [H8798] H7726 , O backsliding H1121 children H5002 , saith [H8803] H3068 the LORD H1166 ; for I am married [H8804] H3947 unto you: and I will take [H8804] H259 you one H5892 of a city H8147 , and two H4940 of a family H935 , and I will bring [H8689] H6726 you to Zion:

15 H5414 And I will give [H8804] H7462 you pastors [H8802] H3820 according to mine heart H7462 , which shall feed [H8804] H1844 you with knowledge H7919 and understanding [H8687] .

16 H7235 And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied [H8799] H6509 and increased [H8804] H776 in the land H3117 , in those days H5002 , saith [H8803] H3068 the LORD H559 , they shall say [H8799] H727 no more, The ark H1285 of the covenant H3068 of the LORD H5927 : neither shall it come [H8799] H3820 to mind H2142 : neither shall they remember [H8799] H6485 it; neither shall they visit [H8799] H6213 it; neither shall that be done [H8735] any more.

17 H6256 At that time H7121 they shall call [H8799] H3389 Jerusalem H3678 the throne H3068 of the LORD H1471 ; and all the nations H6960 shall be gathered [H8738] H8034 unto it, to the name H3068 of the LORD H3389 , to Jerusalem H3212 : neither shall they walk [H8799] H310 any more after H8307 the imagination H7451 of their evil H3820 heart.

18 H3117 In those days H1004 the house H3063 of Judah H3212 shall walk [H8799] H1004 with the house H3478 of Israel H935 , and they shall come [H8799] H3162 together H776 out of the land H6828 of the north H776 to the land H5157 that I have given for an inheritance [H8689] H1 unto your fathers.

19 H559 But I said [H8804] H7896 , How shall I put [H8799] H1121 thee among the children H5414 , and give [H8799] H2532 thee a pleasant H776 land H6643 , a goodly H5159 heritage H6635 of the hosts H1471 of nations H559 ? and I said [H8799] H7121 , Thou shalt call [H8799] H1 me, My father H7725 ; and shalt not turn away [H8799] H310 from me.

20 H403 Surely H802 as a wife H898 treacherously [H8804] H7453 departeth from her husband H898 , so have ye dealt treacherously [H8804] H1004 with me, O house H3478 of Israel H5002 , saith [H8803] H3068 the LORD.

21 H6963 A voice H8085 was heard [H8738] H8205 upon the high places H1065 , weeping H8469 and supplications H1121 of the children H3478 of Israel H5753 : for they have perverted [H8689] H1870 their way H7911 , and they have forgotten [H8804] H3068 the LORD H430 their God.

22 H7725 Return [H8798] H7726 , ye backsliding H1121 children H7495 , and I will heal [H8799] H4878 your backslidings H857 . Behold, we come [H8804] H3068 unto thee; for thou art the LORD H430 our God.

23 H403 Truly H8267 in vain H1389 is salvation hoped for from the hills H1995 , and from the multitude H2022 of mountains H403 : truly H3068 in the LORD H430 our God H8668 is the salvation H3478 of Israel.

24 H1322 For shame H398 hath devoured [H8804] H3018 the labour H1 of our fathers H5271 from our youth H6629 ; their flocks H1241 and their herds H1121 , their sons H1323 and their daughters.
