For the Lorde had geuen him reste. 7 And therfore he sayde to Iuda: let vs build these cyties, and compase them wyth walles and toures, gates, and barres, while we haue the lande quiet. For we haue sought the Lord oure God: & because we haue sought hym, he hath geuen vs reste on euery syde. And so they buylt and prospered. 8 And Asa had an Army that bare shylde and speare, out of Iuda thre hundred thousand, and out of Beniamin that bare shilde and drewe bowes two hundred and .lxxx. thousande, and were all stronge men. 9 And there came oute agaynst them Zarah the Morian wyth an Hoste of ten hundred thousande, and thre hundred charettes, and came as ferre of Maresa. 10 And Asa went out to him. Thou arte the Lorde oure God, let not man preuayle agaynst the. 12 And the Lord smote the blacke Mores before Asa & Iuda, that they fled. 13 And Asa & the people that was with hym, folowed after them as ferre as Gerar. And the blacke Mores were ouerthrowen, that there bode none alyue of them, but were destroyed of the lord, and of the Hoste. And they caryed awaye a myghty greate pray. 14 And they smote all the cities rounde aboute Gerar. For the feare of the Lorde came vpon them.
