Thomson⁽ⁱ⁾ ⁴ Now all this was done, so that there was an accomplishment of what was spoken by the prophet, saying, ⁵ "Say to the daughter of Sion, Behold thy king cometh to thee, meek and mounted on an ass; even on a young colt the foal of an ass." ⁶ So the disciples went, and having done as Jesus commanded them, ⁷ they brought the ass and the colt and threw their mantles on them, and set him thereon. ⁸ And the greater part of the multitude threw their mantles on the way, and some cut branches from the trees and strewed them in the way. ⁹ And the crowds that went before, and they who followed, shouted, saying, Hosannah to the son of David! Blessed he, who is coming in the name of the Lord! Hosannah in the highest!
