Ezekiel 28

VIN(i) 1 The word of the LORD came unto me saying, 2 "Son of man, tell the ruler of Tyre: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: "'"In your arrogance you say, 'I am a god (strong deity). I sit on God's throne in the sea.' But you are only human and not a god, although you think you are a god. (2 Thes 2:4) 3 Look, are you wiser than Daniel, so that no secret is hidden from you? 4 By your wisdom and by your understanding You have made for you wealth, And make gold and silver in your treasuries." 5 By thy great skill and thy traffic thou hast increased thy wealth; and with thy wealth thy heart is elated; 6 Therefore thus says the Sovereign LORD: Because you have set your heart as the heart of God, 7 '"I will bring strangers, ruthless nations, upon you. They will draw their swords against the beauty of your wisdom and defile your splendor. 8 They will thrust you down to the pit, and you will die a violent death in the heart of the seas. 9 '"You will no longer say that you are a god when you face those who kill you. You will be a human, not a god, in the hands of those who kill you."' 10 You will die the death of the uncircumcised by the hand of strangers; for I have spoken it,” says the Sovereign LORD.'” 11 And the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 12 Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyre, and say unto him, Thus says the Lord GOD; You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. 13 You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone adorned you: ruby, topaz, emerald, chrysolite, onyx, jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and beryl. Gold work of tambourines and of pipes was in you. In the day that you were created they were prepared. 14 »‘»I appointed an angel to guard you. You were on God's holy mountain. You walked among fiery stones. 15 You were blameless in your ways from the day when you were created, until wickedness was found in you. 16 By the multitude of your trade, they filled your midst with violence, and you sinned. So I cast you defiled from the height of God, and I destroyed you, O covering cherub, from among the stones of fire. 17 Your heart was proud because of your beauty; you ruined your wisdom because of your splendor. I threw you on the ground before kings; I have exposed you for viewing. 18 By the host of your iniquities, by the iniquity of your trade, you have profaned your holy places. So I brought a fire from your midst and it shall devour you, and I will give you for ashes on the earth in the sight of all who see you. 19 "'"All who know you among the peoples are appalled at you. You have become terrified. You will cease to be forever."'" 20 The word of the LORD came to me, saying, 21 Son of man, set your face against Sidon and prophesy against her, 22 and you must say, 'Thus says the Sovereign LORD: "Look! I am against you, Sidon, and I display my glory in the midst of you, and they will know that I am the LORD when I execute my judgments, and I will show myself holy within it. 23 For I will send pestilence into her, and blood into her streets. The wounded will fall within her, with the sword on her on every side. Then they will know that I am the LORD. 24 And there is no more to the house of Israel A pricking brier, and paining thorn, Of all round about them--despising them, And they have known that I [am] the Sovereign LORD." 25 "'The Sovereign LORD says: "When I gather the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, I will make known my holiness in them in the sight of the nations. Then they will live in their land that I gave to my servant Jacob. 26 "'"They will live in it securely. They will build houses, plant vineyards and live securely when I execute judgments upon all who scorn them round about them. Then they will know that I am the LORD their God!"'"
