Genesis 48:18-20 Joseph said to his father, "Not so, my father; for this is the firstborn; put your right hand on his head."

VIN⁽ⁱ⁾ ¹⁸ Joseph said to his father, "Not so, my father; for this is the firstborn; put your right hand on his head." ¹⁹ His father refused, and said, "I know, my son, I know. He also will become a people, and he also will be great. However, his younger brother will be greater than he, and his descendants will become a multitude of nations." ²⁰ So he blessed them that day, saying, Through you Israel shall pronounce blessing, saying, 'May God make you like Ephraim and like Manasseh.'" So he put Ephraim before Manasseh.
