Proverbs 30

VIN(i) 1 The words of Agur, son of Yakeh, the oracle. Thus says the man to Ithiel, to Ithiel, and Ucal: 2 "Surely I am the most ignorant man, and do not have a man's understanding. 3 I have not learned wisdom, nor the knowledge of the holy. 4 Who has ascended to heaven and come down? Who has gathered the wind in the hollow of his hand? Who has wrapped water in a garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name and what is the name of his child? For surely you know. 5 "Every word of God is flawless. He is a shield to those who take refuge in him. 6 Do not add to his words lest he rebuke you and you be found a liar. 7 Two things I ask from you; do not deny me before I die: 8 vanity and words of lies, remove far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches; tear my statute bread for me; 9 lest I be full, deny you, and say, 'Who is the LORD?' or lest I be poor, and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God. 10 Do not slander a servant to his master, or else he will curse you and you will be guilty. 11 There is a generation that curse their father, and do not bless their mother. 12 A generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet are not washed from their filthiness. 13 A generation, whose eyes are lofty, and their eyelids lifted up on high. 14 a generation whose teeth are like swords, and its jaw teeth like knives, to devour the poor from the earth, and the needy from among men. 15 The leach has two daughters: 'Give, give'. There are three things that are never satisfied; four that don't say, 'Enough:' 16 The nether world; and a barren womb; the earth which is not satisfied with water; and the fire which never saith, Enough. 17 The eye that mocks his father, and rejects obedience to his mother, the ravens of the valley pick it out, and the young eagles eat it. 18 "There are three things which are too amazing for me, four which I do not understand: 19 the way of an eagle in the air; the way of a snake on a rock; the way of a ship in the middle of the sea; and the way of a man with a maiden. 20 “So is the way of an adulterous woman: She eats and wipes her mouth, and says, 'I have done nothing wrong.' 21 For three things the earth trembles, under four it cannot bear up: 22 For a servant when he is king, a fool when he is filled with food, 23 For an unloved woman when she is married; and a maidservant that is heir to her mistress. 24 Four things on earth are small, but they are very, very wise: 25 The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their food in the summer; 26 Coneys are a people not staunch, Yet they make their home in the crag;" 27 The locusts have no king, yet they advance in ranks. 28 Spiders can be caught by the hand, yet they're found in kings' palaces. 29 "There are three things which are stately in their march, four which are stately in going: 30 The lion, mighty among the beasts, retreats before nothing. 31 a strutting rooster or he-goat, and a king whose army is with him. 32 If you've foolishly exalted yourself or if you've plotted evil, put your hand over your mouth. 33 For as the churning of milk produces butter, and the wringing of the nose produces blood; so the forcing of wrath produces strife.”
