Come to save us! ³ Restore us, God. Cause your face to shine, and we will be saved. ⁴ O LORD God of hosts, how long will you be angry against the prayer of your people? ⁵ You have fed them the bread of tears; You have even made them drink tears by the bowlful. ⁶ You make us a source of contention to our neighbors. Our enemies have mocked us. ⁷ Restore us, God of hosts. Cause your face to shine, and we will be saved. ⁸ You brought a vine out of Egypt. You drove out the nations, and planted it. ⁹ You cleared the ground for it so that it took root and filled the land. ¹⁰ The mountains were covered with its shade, and the mighty cedars with its boughs. ¹¹ It sent out its branches to the sea, its shoots to the River. ¹² Why did you break down its walls so that those who pass by pluck its fruits? ¹³ Swine from the forests devour it and creatures of the field feed on it. ¹⁴ Return, we beg you, God of hosts. Look down from heaven, and see, and visit this vine, ¹⁵ The root that your right hand planted, the shoot that you tended for yourself, ¹⁶ - burnt with fire - cut down; they destruct at the rebuke of your face. ¹⁷ May you support the man at your right hand; the son of man whom you have raised for yourself. ¹⁸ So we will not turn away from you. Revive us, and we will call on your name. ¹⁹ Restore us, O LORD God of hosts, cause your face to shine; and we shall be saved.
