Jeremiah 18 The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD , saying,

2 H6965 [H8798] Arise H3381 [H8804] , and go down H3335 [H8802] to the potter's H1004 house H8085 [H8686] , and there I will cause thee to hear H1697 my words.

3 H3381 [H8799] Then I went down H3335 [H8802] to the potter's H1004 house H2009 , and, behold H6213 [H8802] , he wrought H4399 a work H70 on the wheels.

4 H3627 And the vessel H6213 [H8802] that he made H2563 of clay H7843 [H8738] was marred H3027 in the hand H3335 [H8802] of the potter H6213 [H8799] : so he made H7725 [H8804] it again H312 another H3627 vessel H5869 , as it seemed H3474 [H8804] good H3335 [H8802] to the potter H6213 [H8800] to make it.

5 H1697 Then the word H3068 of the LORD H559 [H8800] came to me, saying,

6 H1004 O house H3478 of Israel H3201 [H8799] , cannot H6213 [H8800] I do H3335 [H8802] with you as this potter H5002 [H8803] ? saith H3068 the LORD H2563 . Behold, as the clay H3335 [H8802] is in the potter's H3027 hand H3027 , so are ye in my hand H1004 , O house H3478 of Israel.

7 H7281 At what instant H1696 [H8762] I shall speak H1471 concerning a nation H4467 , and concerning a kingdom H5428 [H8800] , to pluck up H5422 [H8800] , and to pull down H6 [H8687] , and to destroy it;

8 H1471 If that nation H1696 [H8765] , against which I have pronounced H7725 [H8804] , shall turn H7451 from their evil H5162 [H8738] , I will repent H7451 of the evil H2803 [H8804] that I thought H6213 [H8800] to do to them.

9 H7281 And at what instant H1696 [H8762] I shall speak H1471 concerning a nation H4467 , and concerning a kingdom H1129 [H8800] , to build H5193 [H8800] and to plant it;

10 H6213 [H8804] If it shall do H7451 evil H5869 in my sight H8085 [H8800] , that it obey H6963 not my voice H5162 [H8738] , then I will repent H2896 of the good H559 [H8804] , with which I said H3190 [H8687] I would benefit them.

11 H559 [H8798] Now therefore come, speak H376 to the men H3063 of Judah H3427 [H8802] , and to the inhabitants H3389 of Jerusalem H559 [H8800] , saying H559 [H8804] , Thus saith H3068 the LORD H3335 [H8802] ; Behold, I frame H7451 evil H2803 [H8802] against you, and devise H4284 a plot H7725 [H8798] against you: return H376 ye now every one H7451 from his evil H1870 way H1870 , and make your ways H4611 and your doings H3190 [H8685] good.

12 H559 [H8804] And they said H2976 [H8737] , There is no hope H3212 [H8799] : but we will walk H310 after H4284 our own devices H376 , and we will every one H6213 [H8799] do H8307 the imagination H7451 of his evil H3820 heart.

13 H559 [H8804] Therefore thus saith H3068 the LORD H7592 [H8798] ; Ask H1471 ye now among the heathen H8085 [H8804] , who hath heard H1330 such things: the virgin H3478 of Israel H6213 [H8804] hath done H3966 a very H8186 horrible thing.

14 H5800 [H8799] Will a man leave H7950 the snow H3844 of Lebanon H6697 which cometh from the rock H7704 of the field H7119 ? or shall the cold H5140 [H8802] flowing H4325 waters H2114 [H8801] that come from another place H5428 [H8735] be forsaken?

15 H5971 Because my people H7911 [H8804] hath forgotten H6999 [H8762] me, they have burned incense H7723 to vanity H3782 [H8686] , and they have caused them to stumble H1870 in their ways H5769 from the ancient H7635 H7635 [H8675] paths H3212 [H8800] , to walk H5410 in paths H1870 , in a way H5549 [H8803] not cast up;

17 H6327 [H8686] I will scatter H6921 them as with an east H7307 wind H6440 before H341 [H8802] the enemy H7200 [H8799] ; I will show H6203 them the back H6440 , and not the face H3117 , in the day H343 of their calamity.

18 H559 [H8799] Then said H3212 [H8798] they, Come H2803 [H8799] , and let us devise H4284 devices H3414 against Jeremiah H8451 ; for the law H6 [H8799] shall not perish H3548 from the priest H6098 , nor counsel H2450 from the wise H1697 , nor the word H5030 from the prophet H3212 [H8798] . Come H5221 [H8686] , and let us smite H3956 him with the tongue H7181 [H8686] , and let us not give heed H1697 to any of his words.

19 H7181 [H8685] Give heed H3068 to me, O LORD H8085 [H8798] , and hearken H6963 to the voice H3401 of them that contend with me.

20 H7451 Shall evil H7999 [H8792] be recompensed H2896 for good H3738 [H8804] ? for they have dug H7745 a pit H5315 for my soul H2142 [H8798] . Remember H5975 [H8800] that I stood H6440 before H1696 [H8763] thee to speak H2896 good H7725 [H8687] for them, and to turn away H2534 thy wrath from them.

21 H5414 [H8798] Therefore deliver H1121 their children H7458 to the famine H5064 [H8685] , and pour out H3027 their blood by the force H2719 of the sword H802 ; and let their wives H7909 be bereaved H490 of their children, and be widows H582 ; and let their men H2026 [H8803] be put H4194 to death H970 ; let their young men H5221 [H8716] be slain H2719 by the sword H4421 in battle.

22 H2201 Let a cry H8085 [H8735] be heard H1004 from their houses H935 [H8686] , when thou shalt bring H1416 a troop H6597 suddenly H3738 [H8804] upon them: for they have dug H7745 H7882 [H8675] a pit H3920 [H8800] to take H2934 [H8804] me, and hid H6341 snares H7272 for my feet.

23 H3068 Yet, LORD H3045 [H8804] , thou knowest H6098 all their counsel H4194 against me to slay H3722 [H8762] me: forgive H5771 not their iniquity H4229 [H8686] , neither blot out H2403 their sin H6440 from thy sight H3782 [H8716] , but let them be overthrown H6440 before H6213 [H8798] thee; deal H6256 thus with them in the time H639 of thy anger.
