Mark 12 Cross References - ABU

1 AND he began to speak to them in parables. A man planted a vineyard, and set a hedge about it, and dug a wine-vat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went abroad. 2 And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruits of the vineyard. 3 And they took him and beat him, and sent him away empty. 4 And again he sent to them another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully treated. 5 And he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some. 6 Having yet therefore one beloved son, he sent him also to them last, saying: They will reverence my son. 7 But those husbandmen said among themselves: This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours. 8 And they took, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard. 9 What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard to others. 10 And have ye not read this scripture: The stone which the builders disallowed, The same is become the head of the corner; 11 This is from the Lord, and is wonderful in our eyes. 12 And they sought to lay hold of him, but feared the people; for they knew that he spoke the parable against them; and they left him, and went away. 13 And they send to him some of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to entrap him with a word. 14 And they come and say to him: Teacher, we know that thou art true, and carest for no one; for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth. Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not? 15 Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said to them: Why tempt ye me? Bring me a denáry, that I may see it. 16 And they brought it. And he says to them: Whose is this image, and the inscription? And they said to him: Caesar's. 17 And Jesus answering said to them: Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marveled at him. 18 And there come to him Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection. And they asked him, saying: 19 Teacher, Moses wrote to us, that if one's brother die, and leave a wife behind, and leave no children, his brother should take the wife, and raise up seed to his brother. 20 There were seven brothers; and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed. 21 And the second took her, and died, and he also left no seed; and the third likewise. 22 And the seven took her, and left no seed. Last of all the woman died also. 23 In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise again, of which of them shall she be wife? For the seven had her for a wife. 24 Jesus answering said to them: Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the Scriptures, nor the power of God? 25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as angels who are in heaven. 26 And concerning the dead, that they rise, have ye not read in the book of Moses, at The Bush, how God spoke to. him, saying: I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? 27 He is not God of the dead, but of the living. Ye greatly err. 28 And one of the scribes came to him, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he answered them well, asked him: Which commandment is first of all? 29 And Jesus answered him: First is, Hear, O Israel; the Lord is our God, the Lord is one; 30 and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength. This is the first commandment. 31 Second is this: Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is no other commandment greater than these. 32 And the scribe said to him: Well, Teacher; thou saidst truly that he is one, and there is no other beside him; 33 and to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbor as himself, is more than all the whole-burnt-offerings and sacrifices. 34 And Jesus, seeing that he answered intelligently, said to him: Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no one dared any longer to question him. 35 And Jesus answering said, while teaching in the temple: How say the scribes that the Christ is son of David? 36 For David himself said, in the Holy Spirit: The LORD said to my Lord, Sit on my right hand, Till I put thy enemies under thy feet. 37 David himself calls him Lord; and whence is he his son? And the great multitude heard him gladly. 38 And he said to them in his teaching: Beware of the scribes, who love to go about in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, 39 and the first seats in the synagogues, and the first places at the feasts; 40 who devour widows' houses, and for a pretense make long prayers; these shall receive greater condemnation. 41 And sitting over against the treasury, he beheld how the people cast money into the treasury; and many that were rich cast in much. 42 And one poor widow came, and cast in two mites, which are a farthing. 43 And calling to him his disciples, he said to them: Verily I say to you, that this poor widow cast in more than all who are casting into the treasury. 44 For all cast in out of their abundance; but she, out of her want, cast in all that she had, her whole living.

Matthew 13:10-15

10 And the disciples came and said to him: Why dost thou speak to them in parables? 11 And he answering said to them: To you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven; but to them it is not given. 12 For whoever has, to him shall be given, and he shall have abundance; but whoever has not, even what he has shall be taken from him. 13 Therefore I speak to them in parables; because seeing they see not, and hearing they hear not, nor understand. 14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which says: With the hearing ye will hear, and will not understand; And seeing ye will see, and will not perceive. 15 For the heart of this people is become gross, And their ears are dull of hearing, And their eyes they have closed; Lest haply they see with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And understand with their heart, And turn, and I shall heal them.

Matthew 13:34-35

34 All these things Jesus spoke to the multitudes in parables; and without a parable he spoke nothing to them; 35 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying: I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things hidden from the foundation of the world.

6 He spoke also this parable: A certain man had a fig-tree planted in his vineyard; and he came seeking fruit thereon, and found none. 7 And he said to the vine-dresser: Behold, three years I come seeking fruit on this fig-tree, and find none. I will send my beloved son; perhaps, seeing him, they will reverence him. 14 But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying: This is the heir; come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may become ours. 15 So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do to them? 16 He will come and destroy these husbandmen, and will give the vineyard to others. And hearing it, they said: Far be it! 17 And he, looking on them, said: What then is this that is written, The stone which the builders disallowed, The same is become the head of the corner. 18 Every one that falls upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder. 19 And the scribes and the chief priests sought to lay hands on him in that hour; and they feared the people; for they knew that he spoke this parable against them.

John 15:1-8

1 I AM the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2 Every branch in me that bears not fruit, he takes it away; and every one that bears fruit, he cleanses it, that it may bear more fruit. 3 Ye are already clean, through the word which I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch can not bear fruit of itself, if it abide not in the vine, so neither can ye, if ye abide not in me. 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches. He that abides in me and I in him, the same bears much fruit; because without me ye can do nothing. 6 If any one abide not in me, he is cast forth as the branch, and is withered; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever ye will, and it shall be done to you. 8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; and ye shall become my disciples.

Romans 11:17-24

17 And if some of the branches were broken off, and thou, being a wild olive-tree, wert grafted in among them, and became a partaker with them of the root and the fatness of the olive-tree; 18 boast not over the branches. But if thou boast, it is not thou that bearest the root, but the root thee. 19 Thou wilt say then: The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in. 20 Well; because of their want of faith they were broken off, and thou standest by thy faith. Be not high-minded, but fear; 21 for if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee. 22 Behold then the goodness and severity of God; toward those who fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness; otherwise, thou also shalt be cut off. 23 And they also, if they continue not in their unbelief, shall be grafted in; for God is able again to graft them in. 24 For if thou wast cut out of the olive-tree which is wild by nature, and wast grafted contrary to nature into a good olive-tree; how much more shall these, who are the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive-tree?

Acts 13:46-48

46 Then Paul and Barnabas spoke boldly, and said: It was necessary that the word of God should first be spoken to you; but since ye thrust it from you, and judge yourselves not worthy of the eternal life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles. 47 For so has the Lord commanded us: I have set thee for a light of the Gentiles, That thou shouldst be for salvation to the end of the earth. 48 And the Gentiles hearing it rejoiced, and glorified the word of the Lord; and as many as were appointed unto eternal life believed.

23 And having appointed a day for him, they came to him in greater numbers to his lodging; to whom he expounded, testifying fully the kingdom of God, and persuading them of the things concerning Jesus, both from the law of Moses and the prophets, from morning till evening. 24 And some believed the things spoken, and some believed not. 25 And disagreeing among themselves, they departed, after Paul had spoken one word: Well did the Holy Spirit speak through Isaiah the prophet to our fathers, 26 saying: Go to this people, and say; With the hearing ye will hear, and will not understand, And seeing ye will see, and will not perceive. 27 For the heart of this people is become gross, And their ears are dull of hearing, And their eyes they have closed; Lest haply they see with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And understand with their heart, And turn, and I shall heal them. 28 Be it known to you, therefore, that to the Gentiles the salvation of God was sent; they, moreover, will hear.

Romans 9:30-33

30 What then shall we say? That Gentiles, who were not following after righteousness, obtained righteousness, the righteousness which is of faith; 31 but Israel, following after a law of righteousness, attained not to [such] a law. 32 Wherefore? Because [they sought it] not by faith, but as being by works of law. For they stumbled against the stone of stumbling; 33 as it is written: Behold, I lay in Zion a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense; and he that believes on him shall not be put to shame.

Acts 4:11-12

1 Peter 2:7-8

7 To you therefore who believe is the honor; but to the disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is become the head of the corner, 8 and a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense, who stumble, being disobedient to the word; to which they were also appointed.

Acts 3:12-16

12 And Peter, seeing it, answered to the people: Men of Israel, why wonder ye at this? Or why look ye so intently on us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made this man to walk? 13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified his servant Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he decided to release him. 14 But ye denied the Holy and Just, and demanded that a murderer should be granted to you. 15 But the Author of life ye killed; whom God raised from the dead, whereof we are witnesses. 16 And his name, upon the faith in his name, made this man strong, whom ye see and know; and the faith, which is through Him, gave him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

Acts 13:40-41

Ephesians 3:8-11

8 To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, was this grace given, to preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; 9 and to make all see what is the dispensation of the mystery, which from ages has been hidden in God, who created all things; 10 that now, to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places might be made known through the church the manifold wisdom of God, 11 according to the eternal purpose which he made in Christ Jesus our Lord,

Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not? 18 But Jesus, knowing their wickedness, said: Why tempt ye me, hypocrites! 19 Show me the tribute money. And they brought to him a denáry. 20 And he says to them: Whose is this image, and the inscription? 21 They say to him: Caesar's. Whose image and inscription has it? And answering they said: Caesar's. 25 And he said to them: Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. 26 And they could not take hold of his words before the people; and they marveled at his answer, and held their peace.

25 He says, Yes. And when he came into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying: What thinkest thou, Simon? Of whom do the kings of the earth take customs, or tribute? For they all had her. 29 Jesus answering said to them: Ye err, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God. 30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. 31 But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken to you by God, saying: 32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? For the seven had her for a wife. 34 And Jesus answering said to them: The sons of this world marry, and are given in marriage. 35 But they who are accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage; 36 for neither can they die any more; for they are equal to the angels, and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection. 37 Now that the dead are raised, even Moses showed, at The Bush, when he calls the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. 38 For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living; for to him all live. 39 And some of the scribes answering said: Teacher, thou saidst well. 40 For they no longer dared to ask him any question.

1 Corinthians 15:13-18

13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then neither has Christ risen; 14 and if Christ has not risen, then is our preaching vain, and vain also your faith. 15 And we are also found false witnesses of God; because we testified of God, that he raised up Christ; whom he raised not, if it be so that the dead rise not. 16 For if the dead rise not, neither has Christ risen; 17 and if Christ has not risen, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. 18 Then also they who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished.

1 Corinthians 15:42-54

42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption, it rises in incorruption. 43 It is sown in dishonor, it rises in glory. It is sown in weakness, it rises in power. 44 It is sown a natural body, it rises a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual. 45 So also it is written: The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam a life-giving spirit. 46 But the spiritual is not first, but the natural; and afterward the spiritual. 47 The first man was of the earth, earthy; the second man is from heaven. 48 As was the earthy, such are they also that are earthy; and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. 49 And as we bore the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. 50 And this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood can not inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Behold, I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 And when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then will be brought to pass the saying, that is written: Death is swallowed up in victory.
