⁴ These are the two olive-trees, and the two lamp-stands, which stand before the Lord of the earth.

¹⁴ Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill can not be hid. ¹⁵ Nor do they light a lamp and put it under the bushel, but on the lamp-stand; and it shines to all that are in the house. ¹⁶ Thus let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

³³ No one, having lighted a lamp, puts it in a secret place, or under the bushel, but on the lamp-stand, that they who come in may see the light.

¹⁷ And if some of the branches were broken off, and thou, being a wild olive-tree, wert grafted in among them, and became a partaker with them of the root and the fatness of the olive-tree;

²⁰ the mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest on my right hand, and the seven golden lamp-stands. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches; and the seven lamp-stands are the seven churches.
