³ And he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman sitting upon a scarlet beast, full of the names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

³⁹ And when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip; and the eunuch saw him no more, for he went on his way rejoicing.

⁴ he that opposes and exalts himself against all that is called God, or that is worshiped; so that he sits in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

¹⁰ I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day; and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet,

² Immediately I was in the Spirit; and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.

³ And another sign was seen in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads seven crowns.

⁶ And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they may nourish her there a thousand two hundred and sixty days.

¹⁴ And there were given to the woman the two wings of the great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

¹ AND I stood upon the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads names of blasphemy; ² (and the beast which I saw was like to a leopard, and his feet as of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion, and the dragon gave to him his power, and his throne, and great authority;) ³ and one of his heads as it were wounded unto death. And his deadly wound was healed; and all the world wondered after the beast. ⁴ And they worshiped the dragon, because he gave the authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying: Who is like to the beast, and who is able to make war with him? ⁵ And there was given to him a mouth speaking great and blasphemous things; and power was given him to work forty-two months. ⁶ And he opened his mouth in blasphemies against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, those who tabernacle in heaven.

⁴ And the woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and gilded with gold, and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand, full of abominations and the impurities of her fornication.

⁶ And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus; and I wondered when I saw her, with great wonder. ⁷ And the angel said to me: Wherefore didst thou wonder? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and the ten horns.

⁹ Here is the mind that has wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sits. ¹⁰ And they are seven kings; the five are fallen, and the one is; the other is not yet come; and when he comes, he must remain a little time. ¹¹ And the beast that was, and is not, he also is an eighth, and is of the seven, and goes into perdition. ¹² And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, who received no kingdom as yet; but receive authority as kings one hour, along with the beast.

¹⁸ And the woman which thou sawest is the great city, which has a kingdom over the kings of the earth.

¹⁰ And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,
