Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision. ¹¹ And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while in uncircumcision; that he might be father of all that believe while in uncircumcision, that the righteousness might be reckoned to them also, ¹² and father of circumcision to those who are not only of the circumcision, but who also walk in the steps of the faith of our father Abraham, which he had while in uncircumcision.

⁶ Not as though the word of God has failed. For not all they are Israel, who are of Israel; ⁷ neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children; but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. ⁸ That is, not they who are the children of the flesh are children of God; but the children of the promise are reckoned as seed.
