⁵ And in those times there was no peace to him who went out, nor to him who came in, but great vexations were upon all the inhabitants of the lands.

⁶ In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the highways were unoccupied, and the travelers walked through byways.

⁶ When the men of Israel saw that they were in a strait (for the people were distressed), then the people hid themselves in caves, and in thickets, and in rocks, and in coverts, and in pits.

⁸ LORD will keep thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth and for evermore.

⁶ And ye are going to hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that ye not be alarmed, for all the things must happen, but the end is not yet. ⁷ For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and plagues and earthquakes in places.
