⁹ And Isaiah said, This shall be the sign to thee from LORD, that LORD will do the thing that he has spoken: Shall the shadow go forward ten steps, or go back ten steps?

⁷ And this shall be the sign to thee from LORD, that LORD will do this thing that he has spoken: ⁸ Behold, I will cause the shadow on the steps, which has gone down on the dial of Ahaz with the sun, to return backward ten steps. So the sun returned ten steps on the dial on which it had gone down.

¹ And the Pharisees and Sadducees who came, testing, demanded him to exhibit to them a sign from the sky. ² But having answered, he said to them, When it becomes evening, ye say, Fair weather, for the sky is red. ³ And at morning, Bad weather today, for the sky is red, being gloomy. Hypocrites! Ye indeed know how to discern the face of the sky, but the signs of the times ye are not able. ⁴ An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign will be given to it, except the sign of Jonah the prophet. And having left them behind, he departed.

¹¹ And the Pharisees came forth, and began to dispute with him, seeking from him a sign from the sky, testing him. ¹² And having sighed deeply in his spirit, he says, Why does this generation seek a sign? Truly I am telling you if a sign will be given to this generation.

²⁹ And when the multitudes gathered together he began to say, This generation is evil. They seek a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah, the prophet. ³⁰ For as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so also the Son of man will be to this generation.
