¹⁹ They came upon me in the day of my calamity, but LORD was my support.

¹¹ And Saul sent messengers to David's house, to watch him, and to kill him in the morning. And Michal, David's wife, told him, saying, If thou save not thy life tonight, tomorrow thou will be slain. ¹² So Michal let David down through the window, and he went, and fled, and escaped. ¹³ And Michal took the teraphim, and laid it in the bed, and put a pillow of goats' hair at the head of it, and covered it with the clothes. ¹⁴ And when Saul sent messengers to take David, she said, He is sick. ¹⁵ And Saul sent the messengers to see David, saying, Bring him up to me in the bed, that I may kill him. ¹⁶ And when the messengers came in, behold, the teraphim was in the bed, with the pillow of goats' hair at the head of it. ¹⁷ And Saul said to Michal, Why have thou deceived me thus, and let my enemy go, so that he is escaped? And Michal answered Saul, He said to me, Let me go. Why should I kill thee?

²⁶ And Saul went on this side of the mountain, and David and his men on that side of the mountain. And David made haste to get away for fear of Saul. For Saul and his men encompassed David and his men round about to take them. ²⁷ But there came a messenger to Saul, saying, Hasten thee, and come, for the Philistines have made a raid upon the land.

¹⁰ But Absalom sent spies throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, As soon as ye hear the sound of the trumpet, then ye shall say, Absalom is king in Hebron. ¹¹ And with Absalom went two hundred men out of Jerusalem who were invited, and went in their simplicity. And the conspiracy was strong, for the people increased continually with Absalom. ¹³ And there came a messenger to David, saying, The hearts of the men of Israel are after Absalom.

¹⁸ They came upon me in the day of my calamity, but LORD was my stay. ¹⁹ He also brought me forth into a large place. He delivered me because he delighted in me.

⁴ Yea, tho I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou are with me, thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.

²⁰ Thou, who have shown us many and great troubles, will revive us again, and will bring us up again from the depths of the earth. ²¹ Increase thou my greatness, and turn again and comfort me.

¹⁹ Thy dead shall live. My dead bodies shall arise. Awake and sing, ye who dwell in the dust, for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast forth the dead.

¹⁰ Who is among you that fears LORD, who obeys the voice of his servant? He who walks in darkness, and has no light, let him trust in the name of LORD, and rely upon his God.

³⁹ And those who passed by reviled him, shaking their heads, ⁴⁰ and saying, Thou who destroy the temple, and build it in three days, save thyself. If thou are the Son of God, come down from the cross. ⁴¹ And likewise also the chief priests, ridiculing with the scholars, and elders, and Pharisees, said, ⁴² He saved others, he cannot save himself. If he is the king of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe in him. ⁴³ He trusted in God, let him rescue him now, if he wants him, for he said, I am the Son of God. ⁴⁴ And also the robbers who were crucified with him reviled him the same way.
