⁸ And when the ruler shall enter, he shall go in by the way of the porch of the gate, and he shall go forth by the way of it.

¹ Then he brought me back by the way of the outer gate of the sanctuary, which looks toward the east. And it was shut. ² And LORD said to me, This gate shall be shut. It shall not be opened, nor shall any man enter in by it, for LORD, the God of Israel, has entered in by it. Therefore it shall be shut. ³ As for the ruler, he shall sit in it as ruler to eat bread before LORD. He shall enter by the way of the porch of the gate, and shall go out by the way of the same.

² And the ruler shall enter by the way of the porch of the gate outside, and shall stand by the post of the gate. And the priests shall prepare his burnt offering and his peace offerings, and he shall worship at the threshold of the gate. Then he shall go forth, but the gate shall not be shut until the evening.

¹⁸ And he is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that he might become preeminent in all things.
