¹² And the peoples shall be as the burnings of lime, as thorns cut down that are burned in the fire.

⁶ But the worthless shall be as thorns to be thrust away, all of them, because they cannot be taken with the hand. ⁷ But the man who touches them must be armed with iron and the staff of a spear, and they shall be utterly burned with fire in their place.

¹⁸ For wickedness burns as the fire. It devours the briers and thorns. Yea, it kindles in the thickets of the forest, and they roll upward in a column of smoke.

¹⁷ And the light of Israel will be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame, and it will burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day.

⁴ Wrath is not in me. Would that the briers and thorns were against me in battle! I would march upon them. I would burn them together.
