² Surely there are mockers with me, and my eye dwells upon their provocation.

⁶ And her rival provoked her greatly, to make her fret, because LORD had shut up her womb. ⁷ And as he did so year by year when she went up to the house of LORD, so she provoked her. Therefore she wept, and did not eat.

⁴ I am as a man who is a laughing-stock to his neighbor. I who called upon God, and he answered. The just, the perfect man is a laughing-stock.

⁹ Is it good that he should search you out? Or as deceiving a man, will ye deceive him?

²⁰ My friends scoff at me. My eye pours out tears to God

³ Allow me, and I also will speak, and after I have spoken, mock on.

¹³ His soul shall dwell at ease, and his seed shall inherit the land.

¹⁴ I behaved myself as though it had been my friend or my brother. I bowed down mourning, as he who bewails his mother. ¹⁵ But in my adversity they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together. The wretches gathered themselves together against me, and I knew it not. They tore me, and ceased not. ¹⁶ Like the profane mockers in feasts, they gnashed upon me with their teeth.

¹ He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

³⁹ And those who passed by reviled him, shaking their heads, ⁴⁰ and saying, Thou who destroy the temple, and build it in three days, save thyself. If thou are the Son of God, come down from the cross. ⁴¹ And likewise also the chief priests, ridiculing with the scholars, and elders, and Pharisees, said, ⁴² He saved others, he cannot save himself. If he is the king of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe in him. ⁴³ He trusted in God, let him rescue him now, if he wants him, for he said, I am the Son of God. ⁴⁴ And also the robbers who were crucified with him reviled him the same way.
