¹⁹ Teach us what we shall say to him. We cannot set in array because of darkness.

³ But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you. Yes, who does not know such things as these?

³ Surely I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to reason with God.

⁶ Hear now my reasoning, and hearken to the pleadings of my lips.

¹⁴ Lo, these are but the periphery of his ways. And how small a whisper do we hear of him! But the thunder of his power who can understand?

²⁰ Where then does wisdom come from? And where is the place of understanding? ²¹ Since it is hid from the eyes of all living, and kept closed from the birds of the heavens.

² Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge?

³ Who is this who hides counsel without knowledge? Therefore I have uttered that which I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.

¹⁶ When I thought how I might understand this, it was too painful for me, ¹⁷ until I went into the sanctuary of God, and considered their latter end.

²² So I was brutish, and ignorant. I was a beast before thee.

⁶ Such knowledge is too wonderful for me. It is high, I cannot attain to it.

² Surely I am more brutish than any man, and have not the understanding of a man, ³ and I have not learned wisdom, nor have I the knowledge of the Holy. ⁴ Who has ascended up into heaven, and descended? Who has gathered the wind in his fists? Who has bound the waters in his garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou know?

¹² For now we see by polished metal, in dimness, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know just as also I was known.

² Beloved, now we are children of God, and it is not yet made known what we will be. But we know that whenever he is made known we will be like him, because we will see him as he is.
