³ And Joshua said to the sons of Israel, How long are ye slack to go in to possess the land, which LORD, the God of your fathers, has given you?

⁹ And they said, Arise, and let us go up against them, for we have seen the land, and, behold, it is very good, and are ye idle? Be not slothful to go and to enter in to possess the land.

² so as to incline thine ear to wisdom, and apply thy heart to understanding, ³ yea, if thou cry after discernment, and lift up thy voice for understanding, ⁴ if thou seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures, ⁵ then thou shall understand the fear of LORD, and find the knowledge of God. ⁶ For LORD gives wisdom. Out of his mouth is knowledge and understanding.

⁴ He who works with a slack hand becomes poor, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.

⁴ The soul of the sluggard desires, and has nothing, but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.

¹⁹ The way of the sluggard is as a hedge of thorns, but the path of the upright is made a highway.

¹⁰ Whatever thy hand finds to do, do with thy might, for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in Sheol, where thou go.

¹⁶ In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear thou not, O Zion. Let not thy hands be slack.

⁶ And having gone out about the eleventh hour, he found others who have stood idle. And he says to them, Why have ye stood here idle the whole day?

²⁷ Work not for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of man will give to you, for God the Father put a seal on this man.

¹³ Brothers, I reckon myself not to have seized, but one thing, indeed forgetting the things behind, and reaching forward to the things ahead, ¹⁴ I press forward toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

¹⁰ Therefore, brothers, instead be diligent to make your calling and selection sure, for doing these things, ye would, no, not ever stumble. ¹¹ For so the entrance will be furnished to you abundantly into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
