²⁰ And thou shall command the sons of Israel, that they bring to thee pure beaten olive oil for the light, to cause a lamp to burn continually ²¹ in the tent of meeting, outside the veil which is before the testimony. Aaron and his sons shall keep it in order from evening to morning before LORD. It shall be a statute forever throughout their generations on the behalf of the sons of Israel.

³⁷ the pure lampstand, the lamps of it, even the lamps to be set in order, and all the vessels of it, and the oil for the light,

²⁴ And he put the lampstand in the tent of meeting, opposite the table, on the side of the tabernacle southward.

² Speak to Aaron, and say to him, When thou light the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light in front of the lampstand. ³ And Aaron did so. He lit the lamps of it in front of the lampstand, as LORD commanded Moses. ⁴ And this was the work of the lampstand, beaten work of gold. To the base of it, and to the flowers of it, it was beaten work. According to the pattern which LORD had shown Moses, so he made the lampstand.

³ and the lamp of God was not yet gone out, and Samuel was laid down in the temple of LORD where the ark of God was, ⁴ that LORD called Samuel. And he said, Here I am.

¹¹ And they burn to LORD every morning and every evening burnt offerings and sweet incense. Also they set the showbread in order upon the pure table, and the lampstand of gold with the lamps of it to burn every evening. For we keep the charge of LORD our God, but ye have forsaken him.

¹⁰⁵ Thy word is a lamp to my feet, and light to my path.

¹³⁰ The opening of thy words gives light. It gives understanding to the simple.

²³ For the commandment is a lamp, and the law is light, and reproofs of instruction are the way of life,

²⁰ Seek to the law and to the testimony! If they speak not according to this word, surely there is no morning for them.

² And the Spirit of LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of LORD.

¹⁶ the people who dwell in darkness saw a great light, and to those who dwell in the region and shadow of death, light sprang up to them.

¹⁶ Thus your light should shine before men, so that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father in the heavens.

¹ Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins, who, having taken their lamps, went forth to the bridegroom's gathering. ² And five of them were wise, and five were foolish, ³ foolish women, who, having taken their lamps, took no olive oil with them. ⁴ But the wise took olive oil in their vessels with their lamps. ⁵ Now while the bridegroom delayed, they all slumbered and slept. ⁶ But at midnight a shout occurred, Behold, the bridegroom comes! Go ye forth for his gathering. ⁷ Then all those virgins were roused, and put their lamps in order. ⁸ And the foolish said to the wise, Give us from your olive oil, because our lamps are going out.

⁷⁹ to give light to those who dwell in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into a way of peace.

³⁵ Let your loins be girded about, and the lights burning,

⁴ In him was life, and the life was the light of men.

⁹ He was the true light coming into the world that enlightens every man.

³⁵ That man was the lamp that burns and shines, and ye were willing to rejoice for an hour in his light.

¹² Again therefore Jesus spoke to them, saying, I am the light of the world. He who follows me would, no, not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.

¹⁸ to open their eyes to turn about from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, for them to receive remission of sins and a lot among those who have been sanctified by faith in me.

⁶ Because it is God who said, Out of darkness light is to shine, who shone in our hearts for an enlightenment of the knowledge of the glory of God in the presence of Jesus Christ.

¹⁷ So that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in knowledge of him, ¹⁸ having the eyes of your heart enlightened. For you to know what is the hope of his calling, and what is the wealth of the glory of his inheritance in the sanctified,

⁸ For ye were once darkness, but now light in the Lord. Walk as children of light ⁹ (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth), ¹⁰ proving what is acceptable to the Lord. ¹¹ And do not associate with the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead even rebuke them. ¹² For it is disgusting even to speak of the things happening by them secretly. ¹³ But all things exposed are revealed by the light, for everything that is seen is light. ¹⁴ Therefore he says, Awake, thou who sleep. And arise from the dead, and the Christ will shine upon thee.

¹⁵ so that ye may become blameless and pure children of God, blameless in the midst of a crooked and perverted generation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world. ¹⁶ Holding firm the word of life, for a boast by me in the day of Christ, that I did not run in vain nor labor in vain.
