¹⁶ Therefore, having scourged I will release him.

⁵ But he was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes we are healed.

²⁶ Then he released Barabbas to them, and having scourged Jesus he delivered him so that he would be crucified.

¹⁵ And Pilate, wanting to do what was sufficient for the crowd, released Barabbas to them. And he delivered Jesus, after scourging, so that he might be crucified.

²² And he said to them a third time, For what evil did this man do? I have found nothing guilty of death in him. I will therefore, having scourged, release him.

And after summoning the apostles, having beat them, they commanded them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and released them. ⁴¹ Indeed therefore they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were considered worthy to be treated shamefully for the name of Jesus.

³⁷ But Paul said to them, Having beaten us publicly, uncondemned men, being Romans, they cast us into prison, and now they thrust us out privately? Certainly not, but after coming, they shall lead us out.
