³ And those who encamp on the east side toward the sunrise shall be those of the standard of the camp of Judah, according to their armies. And the ruler of the sons of Judah shall be Nahshon the son of Amminadab.

⁸ Judah, thy brothers shall praise thee. Thy hand shall be on the neck of thine enemies. Thy father's sons shall bow down before thee. ⁹ Judah is a lion's whelp. From the prey, my son, thou have gone up. He stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as a lioness, who shall rouse him up? ¹⁰ The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor the ruler's staff from between his feet, until he comes to whom it belongs, and to him shall the obedience of the peoples be.

⁷ Of Judah: Nahshon the son of Amminadab.

¹² And he who offered his oblation the first day was Nahshon the son of Amminadab, of the tribe of Judah.

¹⁷ and for the sacrifice of peace offerings, two oxen, five rams, five he-goats, five he-lambs a year old. This was the oblation of Nahshon the son of Amminadab.

¹⁴ And in the first place the standard of the camp of the sons of Judah set forward according to their armies, and over his army was Nahshon the son of Amminadab. ¹⁵ And over the army of the tribe of the sons of Issachar was Nethanel the son of Zuar. ¹⁶ And over the army of the tribe of the sons of Zebulun was Eliab the son of Helon.

¹⁹ The sons of Judah: Er and Onan, and Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. ²⁰ And the sons of Judah according to their families were: of Shelah, the family of the Shelanites; of Perez, the family of the Perezites; of Zerah, the family of the Zerahites. ²¹ And the sons of Perez were: of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; of Hamul, the family of the Hamulites. ²² These are the families of Judah according to those who were numbered of them, seventy-six thousand and five hundred.
